Great brass compass for an EDC enthusiast. This compass did come with the MecArmy logo, but it can be easily sanded off. Be cautious, the compass face can get easily scratched! All in all a good buy.

I bought this compass to hang on my pocket knife with a plastic quick disconnect link and some paracord. I was impressed with its weight and apparent quality of construction. Despite what some are writing about the included chain being ferrous mine was not. Even wadded into a ball and placed next to the compass the chain did not affect the operation so it's definitely not made of ferrous metal. Regarding what some are saying that the pointer jumps around a lot. The compass (any compass) needs to rest on a solid, flat surface to read correctly. The trick is to slightly tilt the compass to bind up the needle a bit then lay it flat and it will point north in a nanosecond. It's all in the the operation. This seems like a pretty good unit for giving you rough headings. I wouldn't use it to navigate with but just for getting your general bearings it seems to be pretty good.
