Life Commemorative: Michael Jackson

Purchased this as part of my grandson's Michael Jackson memorabilia B-day gift. He is enjoying the pictures of Michael's youth and family life as well as seeing their childhood house. Also, it is interesting to note that at first I ordered it from one of my book clubs, only to be told it was out of stock, after they had held the order for several days.So of course I immediatly went to Amazon.com where I should have gone in the first place. It arrived in time for the birthday party and I am greatly pleased with the book and the prompt service.

This is a must have for any MJ fan. It is hard-cover, unlike many of the other tributes, which is worth the price, period. It has some very nice photos in it and it follows his life from beginning to end. I have two favorite photos: the first one is when he was young, obviously when he was the front "man" of the J5, with the global afro, those big gorgeous eyes and that beautiful skin and the other is one where he is still sporting the afro, (a teenager by this time, young but older than he was on the first photo) walking across a pond, striking a pose, giving us a hint of what was to come. If you are truly a MJ fan, you won't be disappointed with this one. LIFE did a great job, ENJOY!

Que du positif sans remarque acerbe : enfin !! l'artiste et rien que l'artiste -->du pur bonheur des photos magnifiques évidemment avec ce petit je ne sais quoi d'original !

Life Magazine, an iconic publication, commemorates Michael Jackson, an iconic entertainer. It's a thorough story, but come ON already. Can Life or ANY of the "commemoratives" and "tribute" magazines and books print his story without dragging him through the mud?!? Almost every one I've read (and that's a lot of them) just have to dredge up the false allegations and other negative crap. Yes, MJ did lead an odd life but I don't believe he ever molested a child (Remember, when he was put on trial, he was found NOT GUILTY for a reason: he was blackmailed and exploited). Can't the focus be on his amazing voice, dance, stage delivery, short films, love and concern for our suffering Earth environment, philinthrophic efforts, and the fact that he captured the world's collective heart as a megatalented child as frontman for the Jackson Five? Forget the crap. Remember the good. Let this tortured soul who tried so hard rest in graceful peace.
