I purchased this brace because of a recent shoulder injury. What i didn't realize (because i was in pain and in need of one, so i ordered one based off reviews instead of reading...) that it also comes with a gel pack that inserts into the brace. I know you are thinking, "Why couldn't i just duct tape a bag of ice to my shoulder?". Well for one thing, this brace is surprisingly comfortable. It holds the ice pack tight to my shoulder and wraps around the body for extra support. I was very impressed the motion i still had in the brace. It was not like i was wearing a few bamboo sticks and wool covered duct tape like some others i have had in the past. The other surprise I found out it was you can also boil the gel pack and have heat! Which my PhD in googling symptoms tells me that shoulders are best healed with a combo of ice and heat. Great to know i have options and flexibility all in one very well priced product. In conclusion, i highly recommend this product if you need a shoulder wrap for support and temperature healing. I do not think it will be of much use on any other part of your body... without more Velcro or duct tape.

This shoulder ice pack is something I never knew I needed in my house. My husband suffers from shoulder pain sometimes. We've been using hot and warm packs all this time, so when I came across this, I knew that we should at least give it a try. It's very easy to use, and the instructions are clear and to the point. The wrap itself is well made and comfortable once you have it on. The fact that you can use it for both hot and cold therapy is the best part of it. I would definitely recommend.

I am adding this comment about two weeks after I did the initial review. Nothing has changed as far as the product is concerned but my diagnosis has changed. It turns out to be more than a rotator cuff problem. The surgeon is recommending a shoulder replacement due to severe arthritis. Even though the problem is far worse than originally reported I still get relief from my pain with the hot packs. This is a welcome relief for my rotator cuff injury. It is not magic but it does hold the insert (cold or hot) in place on the upper arm. I am using mine with heat and it is very satisfactory. The manufacturer does not recommend using a microwave to heat the insert so I bought replacement Roscoe inserts and they fit just fine in this unit and work extremely well. As an experiment I tried microwaving the original insert and it heats up almost as good as the Roscoe. If you do use the microwave please be cautious and don't over due the heating. Sixty seconds is plenty. The picture shows a normal sized man wearing the wrap and it fits him perfectly. I am somewhat larger ( Size 56 Long ) and it does fit me, though not as well as the model. There is plenty of adjustment for arm size but I am going to have to make a replacement chest strap. This is not a knock on the quality as it will fit 95% of people right out of the box.

Doesn't fit at all. No matter how I tried to adjust it, it would not wrap around my upper arm securely--it hung loosely, much too huge (and I am not a petite person). Worse, it did NOT cover the shoulder even a little bit. Useless for its advertised purpose. I struggled to try to make it fit but it never did. Does not resemble the shoulder wrap in the picture. The only plus: excellent customer service from the seller, who promptly gave me a refund. UPDATE: Upon consideration, I updated my review to 3 stars. The product is of quality material, & it probably would fit well on an athletic man (such as pictured). But for a woman or someone thin, it just won't fit.

I'm sure I'm not the only one that gets that shoulder pain. This thing comes in handy like crazy. I have those times where I'm lifting and twisting wrong, and there is always that one time where it just ends up making your shoulder ache like no other. I figured this would be nice to add to see how it worked. It allows you to use it hot or cold, which is always a bonus. If you use the cold compress then all you have to do is toss it in the freezer for one to two hours to freeze the gel. That should help with swelling, minor bruising, and general aches and pains of course. If you need it to be a warm compress you have to place it in hot water for 4-10 mins, but of course continue to check on it to make sure it isn't going to be too hot for you. The warm compress is supposed to relieve short term muscle and joint pain. For people that may want to know, it is latex free, and of course reusable. I would recommend. Might have to buy another one, since my husband likes it so much.

The Velcro Snaps do not hold the Should Wrap in place and there are not enough of the snaps for the Should Wrap to hold to body correctly. I had to use Safety Pins and Black Binder Clips to hold the Shoulder Wrap in place. I feel like I've just been hustled for $19.95. I have review 2 stars only because the Gel Pack works perfectly which I am holding in place with an ACE Bandage. I don't really won't the hassle and trouble of returning the item, so I guess I'm stuck with it. I don't recommend this product.

This product is worthless. Its very stiff and doesn't conform to your shoulder. The gel pad won't freeze so its not very cold. The gel pad is only a rectangle so no cold therapy for your whole shoulder but just the top of your shoulder, but that's also a problem because the material that the gel pad is made out of is so stiff it wont conform to your shoulder so only a small portion to your shoulder get cold therapy. Also the whole shoulder apparatus is very stiff and just doesn't work. I thought, well at least I have a gel pad but it doesn't work because it wont freeze and the material is so thick your should doesn't get cold enough, so even the gel pad doesn't work. In my opinion a complete wast of money.
