I am compound heterozygous MTHFR A1298C + C677T. Have suffered severe chemical depression since I was in high school. After receiving these test results my psychiatrist put me on Deplin, and when those ran out I opted to Amazon for l-methylfolate. I have switched around different brands, and after much research and through experimentation I noticed that when I added a Betaine supplement my energy levels were instantly increased, that day. The folate + betaine relationship is explained in a few papers but the gist is that betaine provides the right pH in stomach for the vitamin to be properly absorbed. Folate is a water-soluble and tricky vitamin. I have just started taking this at night time now, because I simply no longer eat enough during day to want to waste taking a pill. This being my first time with this brand, I did not notice a major difference, but that is because I've already been taking l-methylfolate. It seems to be keeping up and doing its job. This stuff will make you pee neon yellow after; I didn't notice that in previous brands. It doesn't bother me but worth mentioning . I purchased this product specifically because it also has B12, which is needed in the methylation cycle. B9 and B12 are needed together in adequate amounts. I also like that there is some niacin in here as I wanted to start that. I am definitely going to keep purchasing this product for the price point and nutritional value.

I didnt notice anything the first couple of times I tried taking this, which was very discouraging. Recently, I decided to do another deep dive into MTHFR to see if the research had found anything new. I ended up finding out I might need more than the usual dose due to being homozygous so I doubled up and hit the sweet spot. My energy was better, my mood was more stable and I was more patient with my kids, and I even had more stamina in martial arts. I definitely recommend playing around with it if you aren't seeing a difference, of course, be careful not to overdo it. I think my body was running on fumes after dealing with this for so many years unassisted so it needed the extra but not everyone will. It does have a bit of a taste but it is not unmanageable. The size is small and manageable and it is easy to swallow. Overall, it works well if you just find the best dose for you! Wish id figured that out a long time ago so I could've been feeling better all along! I did look at other brands that have a few more things in them that support MTHFR but this has a higher dose of folate than they do so it ended up being in my best interest to stay with them and purchase the additional supplements separately (P-5-P and TMG).

These were recommended by my doctor and am grateful he did. I feel more energetic and not as tired. They seem to be a high quality product. For me, the only downside is I do seem to have an allergic sensitivity to the niacin as sometimes I feel itchy and get flushed. I looked up if this was dangerous and most articles said no. So for now, I take it every other day, just to get my body used to it. As always, please check with your doctor to make sure this is right for you.

I am very satisfied with my order! It has been better than I expected, I legitimately noticed a difference in mood within 30 minutes of taking the supplement on the very first dosage. It was as if this blanket of discontent, subtly residing just beneath the surface, dancing within the confines of my mind was lifted, and all of the side effects that I've struggled with daily, as a lifelong sufferer of MTHFR have been alleviated. I no longer have brain fog, my monthly cycles have both shortened, and lightened, and I've had minimal cramping for a total of 20 minutes per cycle. Instead of 5-7 days, I have 3. Instead of 1 light day, 3-5 devastatingly heavy days, and one high-medium day, I have 2 light, one low-medium day. Instead of debilitating, life altering severe/childbirth-like (Mom of 4 w/all 4 being natural childbirths-I'd know!) cramps, I only have 20 minutes collectively of LOW cramping over two days PER cycle?! My cycle is fully regulated now, and it has established a consistent schedule for the first time in my life. I've only been taking these supplements for three months, and there are such amazing differences in just about every area. My hair is healthier, and shinier. My daily mood has enhanced, I am not going through bouts of insomnia and subsequent fatigue, and I've lost 19 pounds. I do not know if you will have the same results, but as a woman who is allergic to life (Seriously, I have A TON of allergies, and little faith in things.)
