Quick set-up, Connects solidly to Profoto A2
The Clic Octa softbox pivots open quickly, and it's nice not having to assemble rods onto a speed ring and then fabric. The attachment to the A2 is very strong and solid. I will usually mount the A2 on a light stand and attached the softbox to the A2, rather than putting the softbox on the light stand and having the A2 hang from it. There is a plastic clip that hols the softbox in the open/unfolded position. Not sure how long that will stand up to use. I plan to handle it very gently. The mechanism for adjusting the tilt angle (up/down) of the softbox is nice, as is the quick mount for a light stand, though they make the overall length and weight of the plastic body much larger and heavier. Rotation of the softbox on the light stand using the quick connector may work OK, but you may be more inclined to just pivot your light stand. Although the Clic Octa is a neat new idea and quick to use, it still seems a bit pricy, especially once you add a grid.

Over-priced but well made and easy to use
Like all Profoto products, way over-priced but well-designed and easy to use. Not sure about the durability as only time will tell. Some of my Profoto equipment has held up, some has failed and cost more to repair than it is worth. They make great things but you have to weigh the investment value for yourself.

Profoto is pricey but worth it!
This softbox for A1's is great! I like the way it collapses for storing it away in its bag and for travel. It pops open fine and has a very strong magnet to attach it to the light. Works great!

Does not support the flash!
Love the concept and used it for a few months. My flash has fallen a couple times, it fell in the grass so it was no big deal. The magnet does not hold with anything but the bare flash so you can't use gells or grids unless someone holds them in place which defeats the purpose of this softbox. Even then, a small bump or movement launches the bare flash from the mount. After one of my Profoto $1,100. flash fell to the cement and broke, I no longer trust this softbox. Don't buy!

I have zero complaints about it. It’s simply perfect. Well, the price is hard to swallow, but it’s the best light modifier I own (and I have plenty!). It’s easy to use, the build quality is top-notch, the magnets are super strong, and it’s incredibly portable—it’s a no-brainer. But yes, it’s expensive. Profoto really is like the Apple of light modifiers—they deliver the best products, beautifully executed and extremely practical, but the prices can be tough to justify.
