Great wall safe.
The product is simple to use, easy to mount, and works great. It is safe to prevent anyone other than authorized users from accessing, has a back up key should your forget your proximity key, best of all the price is not bad for what you get. The old saying is you get what you pay for. Amazon was great, and quickly shipped the product. I highly recommend the product for quick home security. I have had zero issues with the product.

Worth the Money
Installed in 15 minutes. So simple! Makes sure where ever you install it there is room for the door to swing open. Keep in mind any attachments you have on your shotgun too (shell carrier, optics, sling). Receiver mounted shell holder and optics will not work with this safe. If you have a stock mounted shell carrier it may not work if mounted to a flat wall (not enough clearance). Mount to a stud!!!! You get multiple options for access. 2 RFID stickers to stick to whatever you want, 1 RFID key tag and one bracelet or watch and attachment. You can connect up to 5 RFID items. You can use the keypad with a 4 to 6 digit code that you choose. Last is the manual barrel type keys. Connect to power or run on four (4) AA batteries. If you choose batteries, don't go with cheap dollar store no name batteries. Get good quality batteries! Yes there are cheaper types of safes. None offer all of these access options. Under stress, keying in a code or using a key is not an option!!! Love the multiple RFID options. Spend the extra money.

Holds a shotgun securely, but the gun must be unloaded, with the action open, to fit into the safe
Works as advertised. I bought one to install in my motorhome, to carry a 14" Remington 870 shotgun with Shockwave handgrip instead of a stock. The safe closes over the ejection port and also blocks the loading gate. It fits fine with the bulky MagPul fore-end pump slid back, but I hadn't realized that you must open the pump action to put the shotgun into the safe. So Hornady says the shotgun has to be unloaded. The safe has a metal block built into the inside that fits into the open ejection port, so the gun won't shift in either direction when it is locked. That why I gave it four stars instead of five. It doesn't work for a standby gun that you keep locked and loaded (without a round in the chamber) by the front door for emergencies. I'll do some experimentation to see if I can load the magazine tube but leave the chamber empty with the action open. The other issue with it is that while it comes with a separate wall fitting or bracket designed to capture the muzzle of the gun, and keep it from being used as a pry bar, it needs a similar support bracket at the other end if you mount it vertically, as I intend to do. Because without such a lower supporting bracket, when you pop open the safe, the shotgun can drop out of the safe onto your foot. But such a bracket should be easy to find in a hardware store and mount to the wall to support the butt of the gun. The safe comes with multiple methods for unlocking, including an electronic ID bracelet and some electronic tab stickers you can put on your phone or knife or wallet, whatever. When you place the object bearing the sticker near the safe, it opens. The safe also has some buttons that you program with a combination for opening without using those devices. The buttons might be a bit small to use sideways when your adrenaline is flowing, but that remains to be seen.

Convenient Way To Secure Your Shotgun If You Can't Afford (Or Don't Want) A Safe
I only own one shotgun, so I don't need a full safe. I like the easy accessibility this wall lock provides, while keeping the gun secure. This product meets the California DOJ requirements for firearm safety . It is lined with egg crate foam, so it will not scratch your gun. The Rapid Safe can be used with the included AC adapter (although the cord is pretty short, about 24 inches or so) or 4 AA batteries. The clam shell lid can be opened with a 4 to 6 digit combination (but your only integers to work with are 1-4), a key or with one of four included RFID tags. My wristband tag was not recognized by the safe, so I'm taking off a star from my review. I have contacted Hornady directly about this. As mentioned by others, the lid pops open with some vigor, so I would be careful if mounting this vertically on a wall, especially since there is nothing included on which to rest your gun's stock. One other thing that affected me, and that I frankly should have researched a little better, is that this wall lock is designed to work with side ejection ports ONLY. My shotgun's ejection port is on the bottom, so if I try to insert the chamber block into the ejection port, the shotgun will be oriented vertically, which prevents the lid from closing. I'm sure Hornady doesn't recommend this, but I solved the problem by simply laying the gun upside down on the foam with the ejection port up against the chamber block. The lid closes fine, and covers the receiver and the trigger. It does slide a bit (about an inch), but I think this can be solved by adding a little block underneath for the stock when I do mount it on the wall. Or, simply mount it horizontally. Update 4/3/18: I received a response from Hornady customer service today, and it appears that I made a mistake while trying to pair the bracelet with the safe. It turns out that the RFID tag for the bracelet is located near the buckle, and not the decorative medallion in the center of the bracelet. Who knew? Anyway, I am upgrading my review to 5 stars, based partly on their prompt customer service.

Good Wall Safe
I installed mine very quickly. Just had to drill 4 pilot holes in a stud. The piece of plastic on the inside fits inside my shotguns open chamber nicely and, when closed, the foam helps keep everything nice and snug. I really like how it springs open quickly and with force. Cons: I wish they would have updated their listing about one of the pieces. They have substituted the wristband with the RFID watch band tag. I bought the watch band separately and didn't have to. But, it fits great and works as a RFID every time. I was definitely not wearing their wristband everywhere.

Excellent for home defense storage
I'm absolutely am happy with this for use as a very quick access home defense rifle storage. It's ridiculously fast using the R.F.I.D. tags. It also has an electronic code option as well as a mechanical key to gain access. It includes an additional mount to secure the barrel to the wall to help prevent someone from using the barrel as a pry point. One thing I read concerns from others on this product was the fact that it's designed to have your rifles bolt locked back while in storage. Although it comes set up that way this is easily changed by removing some torx bolts. It includes numerous R.F.I.D. options. 1 key chain tag, 1 bracelet and a few stick on tags. I tested all of them and each one works flawlessly. I've read other reviews that stated they'd had issues with their R.F.I.D. but I'm completely satisfied with mine. It has an option of plugging it in with batteries as a back up or just use the batteries. The product includes a sheet to put on the wall to assist in drilling the holes in the correct loction. Mounting it was very easy. You have the option of vertical or horizontal mounting. Although given time a very determined thief could steal the rifle it would not be easy or quick when properly mounted. It will fit various differently equipped AR15 rifles but not everything. Large optics may need to be moved slightly forward or back but the item does have some internal adjustment to accommodate as well. I waited a long time to buy this because I wasn't sure I'd like it. Now that I have it I'm very glad I purchased it and highly recommend this to anyone who wants to secure a home defense rifle but have incredibly fast access to it. Don't mistake it for a safe but it's definitely not an easy steal. However it is safe from children as long as you don't give them access to any of the keys or code.

Good idea, if only the top opening was a half an inch bigger
The opening for your optics is too short. It is less then 8 inches. If you have an eotech w/ magnifier, it will not fit by about a quarter inch as reference. It clamps right in front and just behind the ar15 upper. Start of handguard must be clear of any optic overhang, and back will just clear back of charging handle. Block in safe will insert into ejection port so gun can't be moved(or adjusted) front or back. If you rifle fits it seems to be sturdy. Mounting holes only support a vertical install down a stud on traditional 16" offset stud framing. Obviously sights and lights ane not protected and rounded corners on back may allow crow bar leverage point. Like any safe, this slows thieves down, and prevents someone shooting you with your own gun if the get to it before you do. All opening devices work, bracelet, fob, stickers and obviously the keys and keypad. You load one or all that you want to use. Key is only preprogrammed opener. All other took a few seconds to add

Hardened Install of Hornady AR wall lock
I Installed this Hornady AR Rifle wall lock with Romeo4 Red Dot sight, Viking Sling and 30 round magazine (and spare 30 round mag as well). So far I am really happy with this wall lock. I am a firearms instructor and required to secure weapons while at home. I didn't want a large safe nor do I have many weapons so this really fit my needs. This is a great option for a single weapon security system. It was easy to install however the the 1/4" x 2" lag screws that came with it are trash, as I sheered one off on install. The screws come with 3/8" lock washer and washer, I did put all three in and tightened them to the wall. The box was secured, but the whole box would pry away from the wall, opposite side of the screws, about 1/2 to 3/4". So I decided to HARDEN the install. First I removed the provided screws and broke a second one off (must be Chinese made). I went to the Home Depot and bought 3 new 1/4" x 2 1/2" lag screws along with 3 - 1/4" x1 1/4" flat washers for extra support. These 1 1/4" flat washers did the trick. The whole box became even more rigid and moved very little with the 1 1/4" washers. This wall lock can be opened with a wristband (which we would not wear) 2 decal fobs, one key ring fob and a combination. You have to code each device to operate the lock, so my wife and I oped to used the key ring fob and combination only. It works great and was easy to conceal and highly recommend it for those of you who want single and secure storage, with easy access.
