What countries are sending you the melon product?

We manufacture our Bitter Melon (and all of our products) in the USA in an FDA-registered, NSF-certified, and cGMP-compliant facility. These registrations and certifications guarantee the highest standard of quality available for supplements.

The raw material itself, used in this product, is sourced from China. If China sounds less-than-appealing, the reality is that the raw material for almost all supplements available in the US is sourced from China, simply because of pricing. The key to ensuring quality is to purchase from products that are manufactured according to FDA, NSF and cGMP guidelines, to ensure the maximum quality possible.

To ensure the quality of the raw material and that it is pure and uncontaminated, we have the raw material is tested three separate times. First, it’s tested overseas, then it’s tested again upon arrival at the manufacturer in the US, and it’s tested a third time after encapsulation.

To make sure that all raw material received is exactly what it’s supposed to be, our manufacturer runs a sophisticated identification test called FTIR (Fourier-Transform Infrared Spectroscopy), which detects and identifies the ingredients present in all raw materials.

Our Bitter Melon Extract is not organic. However, since this is a highly concentrated 25:1 extract, what happens in processing, in order to get this level of concentration, is that all extraneous materials are removed. Therefore, while it's not organic, there are very low levels, if any, of undesirable compounds in this product.

How long does it take to work?

Most people take Bitter Melon in order to regulate blood sugar levels in the body. Because there are so many variables (age, health, medical history, hormone history, diet, etc.), each person is very different on how long it takes both for the blood sugar levels to start changing, and how much they will respond to Bitter Melon.

Bitter Melon is not a drug that can produce fast results that are dependent on continually taking the medication. Rather, Bitter Melon is an all-natural supplement that works naturally to help your body to re-regulate and re-balance blood sugar levels. The process is slower than with medication, but is generally results in a longer-lasting change.  Plus, Bitter Melon is much less expensive than medication!

In general, most people, when start on taking Bitter Melon regularly, will see some shift in their estrogen level within the first month.  The level will generally continue to improve, slowly, over time, with many people reporting very positive results in the 2-6 month range.   The range varies widely based on the variables listed above, as well as where a person’s blood sugar levels are and their history when starting.

It’s best to have a blood test done before starting with Bitter Melon, so that you have a baseline, and then monitor your glucose level as you continue to take the Bitter Melon.
