If like me, you are needing to work on your spark plugs, in a R56 Mini Cooper S, then you will definitely be needing this! The R56 Mini Cooper S engine block features deep recessed 14mm spark plugs, which have a 12 point star shaped retaining nut. So a regular spark plug socket will simply not fit! With this item, you actually receive X2 spark plug sockets, X1 is the 14mm size you need and X1 is 16mm, both are of the thin wall design, basically just means they will fit down inside the engine block on your R56 Mini Cooper S. You will need an extension bar to your ratchet to be able to reach the plugs. Both of these sockets are magnetic, so will keep hold of the spark plug, both during removal and refitting. Don't forget, it is really important NOT to overtighten each spark plug when fitting the new ones! You should use the correct torque setting, which is 23, if you don't already own a torque wrench and will be doing this job yourself, they aren't too expensive and are simple enough to use, just be sure to buy one that covers the required setting of 23. I always apply a little anti seize compound around each thread of the spark plugs before fitting. Given the price here and that you get X2, this is great value for money.

Great price and they work very well I used them to lower the spark plugs down into the engine and the magnetic works great so the plug doesn’t just drop in changing the spacing on the plug if it hit anything so overall very pleased

Ich habe diese Zündkerzennüsse als Spezialwerkzeug für einen BMW gekauft. Im Einsatz waren sie noch nicht, das kommt in den nächsten Tagen – aber vom ersten Eindruck her machen sie einen soliden, brauchbaren Eindruck. Verarbeitung wirkt ordentlich, nichts klappert, nichts wirkt billig oder schief. Sie sind sauber gearbeitet und genau das, was man für das Lösen und Anziehen von Zündkerzen braucht. Für hohe Belastungen oder Schlagschrauber sind sie natürlich nicht gedacht – und das wäre bei diesem Werkzeug auch völlig fehl am Platz. Für den vorgesehenen Zweck, also Zündkerzen wechseln, sehe ich hier kein Problem. Dafür wirken sie absolut ausreichend und zweckmäßig. Fazit: Solider erster Eindruck, gutes Werkzeug für den vorgesehenen Einsatz. Wenn sie sich in der Praxis bewähren, bin ich voll zufrieden.
