A solid mount to safely hold the Pi Camera 3. I am adding an IR led and white led assembly in front for lighting in a Colposcopic environment.I have already added the Tindie HDMI extension for CFC cable. Serves my research project.

After seeing my review. The seller reached out and solved my issue. Thanks! I ordered another two and all works. Only suggestion is the screw hole needs to be deeper to fit more kinds of tripods.

Perfect fit for the Raspberry Pi Camera V2. Slot in the back allows for access to the ribbon cable connector if you need to install or remove it. Naturally, it’s easiest if you attach the ribbon cable prior to mounting the camera, but it’s not necessary. The 4 tiny screws take a little dexterity to work with. Magnetize the tip of a small #1 Phillips screwdriver to make it easier. Make sure you carefully hold the screw perfectly in line with the hole as you start it. The holes are not threaded, so you’re cutting threads as you insert the screw. If you start at an angle, you’ll strip the hole as it forces the screw to straighten out. Go slow with a lot of downward pressure to get the threads cut correctly. I knocked off a star for the usability of the 1/4” camera stud mount on the back. A standard camera stud mount is about 3/16” long (0.188”). The hole on this camera mount is only 0.163” deep. When you put it on some kind of camera mount, the stud will bottom out before the back of the mounting case makes contact with whatever kind of tripod or device you’re using. To counter this, you’ll need to place a thin washer behind this case to get a firm mount. Not a huge problem, but if the manufacturer just made the back of this case 0.03” (1mm) thicker, this wouldn’t be needed and you could place this case on any camera mounting device or tripod.
