Satechi USB C Hub Adapter, USBC Dongle 7 in 1, USB-C with 4K HDMI, 87W PD Charging, USBC Data, 2 USB-A Data, Micro/SD Card Readers, for M5/M4/M3/M2/M1 MacBook Pro/Air - Space Gray

I have a black protective case which I had to slightly modify on the left side by using a file. It needs to fit flush against the side of the laptop. So depending on what kind of protective case you have, you might need to make sure that it allows for the ENTIRE length of the device to fit flush against the Macbook. That being said, its space grey, matches the laptop which is amazing. It uses 2 USB ports, but has 2 USB-C ports, an HDMI out cable that works great on my 4k TV. It has 2 USB 3.1 ports, a memory card reader and a micro card reader as well so you don't need an adaptor for the mini ones that are the typical ones used today that have a 256GB or higher space. It was $99 when I purchased it, which was in my opinion pricey because of the other models available. That being said you get what you pay for. This is a GREAT product, looks sleek and was made for the MacBook Pro. I have the 2016 13" MacBook Pro with the touch bar, basically the best you could buy in the early summer of 2017. Soon after a new upgrade was released but the differences were only slight. I was so in love with my new MacBook and at how easily it was to port around and how quiet it was that I wanted to only put the best of the best on it. This is the best adaptor for the laptop. With USB-C on the macbooks you only get 4 ports, 2 on each side, so this totally takes up an entire side. Since the power cord is USB-C I was curious if you could charge only on one side (the right side but nope, left or right, you can simply plug in the device and then plug in the power cable to one of the two USB-C ports on the device. I have plugged in 2 USB 3.1 hubs and connected about 8 devices all through this hub and all worked perfectly. The HDMI out supporting 4k was pretty surprising. Now granted I have a mid level 4k TV, used a new HDMI cable but just for some reason expected a 1080p resolution but was surprised that it was 4k resolution, making the text on icons super easy to read. I could use my 65" TV as an extended monitor no problem. Though, I really don't but its pretty good if you want to play video. I use plex and I also use Apple TV (currently the 4 that doesn't support 4k), so its nice to plug in directly and get higher resolution as the apple TV is limited to 1080p and most programs can't transcode video from one format into 1080p in real time so they are usually 720p so the sake of your CPU. I use Stream2Me and Air Play HD on my apple TV along with Plex on my apple TV and the comparison between airplay is completely noticeable with the HDMI being much clearer. Even using 3rd party applications like Air Parrot 2, having a great wireless ac network, that covers my whole house, sometimes it's just easier to plugin an HDMI cable. I have used the HDMI out at several conferences and meetings and the fact that the HDMI input is located on the top makes it much easier. So nothing but good things to say about this. I would mention the issue with the cases and it needing to be flush. I will attach pictures showing what I mean.

Just got this after returning the similar HyperDrive USB-C hub. This one does not seem to have the issue with dropped wifi connection. To anyone that has that issue, keep in mind that it is the hub that gives off radio frequencies that interfere with 2.4ghz wifi. If you connect to 5Ghz, there shouldn't be an issue. Additionally, if you use the hub on the opposite side of the MacBook Pro, it should not be an issue. Again, though - I do not have that issue with this awesome product. I will be sure to update my review if anything develops, but for now its perfect. Sleek look, perfectly matches the color of the space gray. would definitely recommend!

I bought this adapter back in the spring of 2017 for my brand new macbook pro and it works beautifully to this day! This product last and it's so perfect for travel. It does everything I need it to in such a compact form. The metal feels really nice and sturdy and Ive never had a problem with it slipping out of the port and I use this thing all the time. I did have to modify my Kuzy computer case a little to make it fit but I knew I would be doing that when I bought the case so that wasn't a problem at all for me. Might be a deal breaker for some people but I still highly recommend the adaptor! Also the device gets a little warm during use but it hasn't bothered me. The price also might be a little speddy for someone on a budget, but this adaptor was extremely worth the money!

This product is amazing. I was rather disappointed, as were most, when I purchased a $2700 MacBook Pro to find it only had Thunderbolt 3 ports. I knew this when purchasing the computer so it wasn't devastating but I had also already researched this product. This product not only resolved nearly all of my adapter/dongle needs, it matches the color of my Space Grey MacBook perfectly. It doesn't stick out much and fits rather solidly without any major issues. I, for one, have chosen to remove and add the adapter as needed, rather than leaving it on at all times. This makes my sleeve/case a non issue and this adapter is so small, it'll easily fit anywhere in my backpack. I only hope the adapter is rugged enough to sustain the adding and removing over time. I will update after some time to let everyone know if I encounter any issues. So why 4 stars? Well, I only wish there was an ethernet connection included in the adapter. While it's rather rare for most folks to need this functionality these days, I find myself traveling for business often and encounter situations where I need ethernet connectivity. Don't let this be a deal breaker by any means, this is strictly related to my own personal/business use. This is a great adapter and gives all of us Apple Nerds exactly what we are looking for to complete our purchase.

Hub exactly as advertised, and works as expected. Bought as a second one (one stays home on my multi-connected desk, the other for travel and school). Never any problems.

Inicialmente fiquei na dúvida se teria sido uma boa compra, pois as primeiras vezes que utilizei as entradas USB estavam um pouco apertadas e precisei de fazer alguma pressão. No entanto, após algumas utilizações estou rendida. As entradas já funcionam na perfeição e tornou-se essencial para funcionar com o meu Mac. A cor é perfeita, é muito leve e não aquece em momento algum. Estou muito contente com a minha compra.

Utilisé avec un Macbook Pro 13" acheté en juillet 2017. Le nouveau Macbook Pro est excellent, un peu plus petit que son prédécesseur, plus rapide et j'aime la touch bar. Mais la connectique est 100% USB-C - c'est quand même un problème pour brancher mes disques de sauvegarde, mon iphone ou la sd-card de mon appareil photo. L'adaptateur Satechi rend totalement le service pour revenir au niveau de connectivité de mon macbook précédent. Très peu encombrant, je peux le transporter en permanence avec mon Macbook.Le branchement est facile et a l'air sûr. J'aurais préféré un port mini-displayport plutôt qu'un port HDMI, mais ça se discute.

Chi acquista un MacBook Pro (parlo di Pro, questo articolo non è compatibile con il MacBook 12 che ha solo una presa usb-c) del 2016 o 2017 sa che è costretto a comprare degli adattatori per poter usufruire di schede sd, porte usb standard e uscite hdmi. Con questo prodotto si ha tutto su un'unica dock compatta e davvero ben fatta che presenta un hub in alluminio che gli conferisce qualità e solidità, oltre che continuità con il proprio macbook con il quale si abbina perfettamente come spessore e colore. Le porte disponibili sono due USB 3, un HDMI (sapientemente posta sul dorso dell'adattatore), un lettore di schede sd, un lettore di schede micro sd e due usb-c che non fanno perdere nulla degli attacchi utilizzati per collegare questo hub al mac. L'adattatore utilizza entrambi gli slot usb-c posti sui lati del MacBook Pro e può essere utilizzato sia sul lato sinistro che sul destro (per i possessori di MacBook Pro con touchbar). In pure stile minimalista Apple, un pratico e appena visibile Led bianco che indica che l'hub è operativo. Dal punto di vista della portabilità, l'adattatore non influisce minimamente sul peso del computer e non interferisce con l'utilizzo. si ha solo un piccolo ingombro laterale di quasi 2 cm qualora si decidesse di tenerlo attaccato al Mac anche durante gli spostamenti. Nota dolente il prezzo: elevato come ogni accessorio legato al mondo della grande mela, ma in gran parte giustificato dall'ottima qualità dei materiali e dalla piena compatibilità con OS X. Sul mercato esistono tanti tipi di hub più economici, ma spesso, nel migliore dei casi, hanno una nuance di colori non corrispondente al proprio mac o, peggio ancora, non riconoscono tutte le periferiche collegate e talvolta smettono di funzionare dopo diversi utilizzi.
