Must have for hard core exp/stardust grinding
Pros: - Works right out of the box with a full or solid charge - Connected and recognized as a go plus right away - Has ability to auto-catch pokemon and auto-spin pokestops - Great for grinding that exp and stardust even when you're busy with other things Cons: - Appears to have no indication of how much battery life is left, although it hasn't been much of an issue - It does disconnect here and there and gives you no indication, you'd have to actually check the game and see - As other have mentioned, it only uses pokeballs (red balls) and it can miss a few pokemon at times (but not an issue to be concerned with) - The strap is ugly and at times difficult to clip on to your liking Other thoughts: - I honestly feel like I'm cheating, you just walk, jog, skate, or bike down a highly populated pokemon/stop area and it's a solid grinding session Quick overview: If you have no idea what this item is, it connects to your phone via bluetooth and detects nearby pokemon and pokestops. On top of that, you can set it to auto catch or spin stops and pokemon. Others have mentioned that they had trouble connecting the device to the phone, I have had no problems at all. Pretty much 100% success rate, every time. I have let it run for long periods, I'm not sure if it actually disconnects after an hour but I usually check back and just reconnect it quickly for a new session. Other than a few minor quirks, I would say this device is awesome. Compared to the Go Plus, it saves you the hassle of modifying your device for autocatch for a few bucks more, and it looks a lot less childish (for us adult players) Tips: By default, it'll not catch and spin. Press button, get to setting you want to toggle, press and hold to toggle. Checkmark means on, X means off. TLDR: Autocatch pokemon, autospins pokestops. It's like cheating but it's not. Instead of wasting potentially several minutes on each pokemon, have this device catch it for you in a few seconds. A must have for the hardcore pokemon go player and exp grinder.

Great Product: how to not make it a Lostcha instead of a Gotcha
Our family of 4, all own Gotcha's for each of our accounts. The product works great as advertised with the only issue being one of us will occasionally (every few days) need to entirely reboot phone due to it not syncing with Bluetooth. With us running 4 Gotcha's in 1 car on 4 phones, I don't find this to be much of an issue. The main thing we've lost 3 Gotcha's, where they fell out of their charging cradles. I came up with a solution and we haven't had any issues since. I super glued (be very careful and make sure the charging pins are aligned while super glue dries) them into their cradle so they can't fall out and go un-noticed when we are on the go. After the super glue was dried and I'd confirmed that the pins were touching correctly for charging between the gotcha and cradle and it was charging correctly... I had 1 I missed and had to do a second try, it was very difficult to get out and break super glue hold but I managed. The next thing to do is buy a "Tile" (or other brand) Bluetooth tracker, I've also used a Trackr Pixel (see photo) on two and Tile trackers on the other two which are attached with zip ties. We've owned Gotchas for over 3 years and after loosing 3 in the first year (which can get very pricey fast), we haven't lost a single once since I ensured that a) it can't fall out of it's cradle and b) we can track it if it falls under a car seat etc... and goes un-noticed. The battery life on the Gotchas are slightly shorter than it was when they were brand new, but after a few years the batteries are holding up much better than I had expected. A great device which I'd rate A++, just wanted to give a heads up on just how EASY they can be to loose if you don't take a few additional steps.

Nothing comes close
The Good: There is nothing else that does what this does, no real competitor and nothing close in functionality (with the automation) and so if you have made it here you need to just purchase this device. I own several and loved them when playing legitimately and when cheating. The Bad: So this product is not perfect; it is buggy, the battery is finicky, the charger is not perfect, the band is too small for a normal adult, the connectivity is low range, modding is difficult as the case is pressure sealed. The charger with one of my devices was wired backwards (and did not work). connecting two to a iphone at the same time is an absolute nightmare and nearly impossible. Like the non-automated counter part, you have to reconnect the device every hour or so. The speed is limited by the game that the device will properly function. You cannot specify to prioritize one object in the game over another... but everything from that forward is an issue with pokemon go and not this device itself. Conclusion: I purchased 3 and might buy more. Also this is the most convenient place to order it for the US.

Great little product but it can be really frustrating!
It works as advertised-- catches Pokémon with regular pokeballs with no modifiers added (except badge bonuses) and spins both Gyms and Stops. I would only use it to collect for grinds not for rare 'Mons but its great for outings to the park where you have to keep an eye on your kids or pets and not glued to your phone to catch 'em all. I'm docking it a star for the Yet Another custom USB adapter that doesn't quite hold the main unit tightly and for the lack of a power indicator on the main screen (it just dies and when you plug it in the battery screen flashes an animation saying it's charging but I've yet to see a "Battery Full" indication). I've found a small piece of cardstock under the unit provides enough pressure to keep it in the Adapters housing but I shouldn't have to kludge a workaround. How about a charger that has the same type of full wraparound as the strap does to provide fully supported contact? For iPhone users that are having issues keeping the product connected to your iPhone - I was having a problem getting my iPhone to recognize the Gotcha after my wife tested it on her iPhone. It would flash the screen for a half a second and would not connect to PoGo. I finally had to go into the PoGo+ setting and ejected the PoGo+ there. Then I had to quit out of PoGo completely. Went into >Settings >Bluetooth and deleted the PoGo+ there. Reopened Pogo and re-paired the entire unit again from fresh. Works like a charm. it was a fairly simple workaround that only took a couple of frantic hours to figure out while wondering if I would have to return the unit. I don't use a lot of Bluetooth items so I'm sure that played into it. So while I've been writing this, the Gotcha has collected a PokeStop and caught two 'Mons and had two run away. Not too shabby for doing nothing!

A satisfied and happy user!
Very nice: it works as advertised and improves on the Go Plus in the sense that it allows you to automate the tasks of spinning pokestops and catching pokemons as you go about your business without looking at your phone or pressing a button. You can even have another app open or simply minimize Pokemon Go (it doesn't need to be the app on top, thus saving your phone's battery). You can be notified by a vibration or you can turn it off to save battery life. If you are looking at your screen and catch a pokemon or spin a pokestop yourself, I have heard that the Go Plus disconnects itself. This is not the case with the Gotcha: it may lead to some confusion, when a pokestop doesn't react right away, but it will just send you an error message and keep working as before. Moreover, you can recharge it for an hour every 3-4 days instead of having to replace batteries regularly. What is does NOT do: - recognize/interact with gyms - improve on the Go Plus in any other regard. Specifically, the Go Plus has well-publicized connection issues. It connects to your phone via bluetooth, so does the Gotcha. This connection sometimes drops off unexpectedly and reconnecting may be a headache. So does the Gotcha's - the catch rate is much lower than if you threw the pokeball yourself, between 10 to 30% of what a player can do manually, especially with the player's advantage of deciding what kind of ball to use and the option of using berries - once you are out of pokeballs, it will stop catching pokemons - once your bag is full, it will stop collecting items from pokestops - catching pokemons is always prioritized over spinning poketops It's certainly not perfect, but I appreciate driving in peace to find after I get home that my bag is full. Note: be ready to start thinking of your red normal pokeballs as precious and use a lot more great and ultra balls when you play in order to leave the maximum number of normal balls available for your Gotcha.

Pokemon Go+/Go-tcha Devices only have a 30% catch rate!!! Most Pokemon will Run away!!!
Works great! little trouble out of the box but downloaded the instruction guide and no more problems from there.... Now here is the BIG problem... Out of all the pokemon this device is going to encounter, well 70% of them will run away! Especially NEW and HIGH CP pokemon for some reason ALWAYS run away! This is a HUGE problem for someone like me who is level 30 and working on getting higher ASAP, because losing all that XP just because the pokemon runs away... Funny thing is had I actually went through the process of catching them all, thats just it i would have CAUGHT MOST of them! So i guess you have to take the good with the bad... Here is another downside, when it spins a new gym, it does NOT give you the gym badge!! It only gives you the items! So take it for what you will, because it is really nice to be able to look UP from my phone. Especially when I am walking everywhere like I am now... I included a screenshot of my jounral showing a whole page of pokemon that ran away except for 2, which were, of course, LOW CP!! EDIT: So while i was working and playing PoGo at the same time, which is made lots easier with a Go-tcha that actually works. Anyway, while i was working, at some point the Go-tcha Device fell OUT of the wrist Band! Of course i did NOT notice at the time so i wound up losing the dam thing! Which Sucks real bad because that one actually worked! I mean it connected to the Game App pretty dam well! I say that because when I bought a second one, it would NOT connect at ALL!! I am talking i got it to connect 1 time, which was right after i used my friend's iPhone to download the "Go-tcha Updater" App (Only available for iOS, NOT Android) and update my Go-tcha Device to the latest Firmware version. Which is 7.0 by the way, according to that App anyways. So I did ALL that and fumbled with it for 1 try and it dod NOT connect of course! So now here I am on the Next Day ready to walk out the house and play PoGo so of course I grabbed my Go-tcha connected it. It immiediately picked up a pokemon, since i have AUTO catch OFF i hit the button to catch it, and of course it ran away. Now i see 3 more pokemon pop up nearby, however the Go-tcha does NOTHING. No vibration, no purple marker on screen for the Go+ features. None of that. the dam device disconnected one me. So i thought NO big deal, my old one did that sometimes but would reconnect from the main screen easily. NOT with this one tho, it just will NOT connect to the game APP NO matter what you do. So of course i returned it! Which is a shame because community day is this sunday! So what did I learn? That the quality, functionality, and way it works... Varies WIDELY from device to Device... So there is NO real way of locking in a solid review and review score! The scores will be all over the place because everyone will have a different experience!! I was thinking of maybe getting a regular Go+ and see how that works but i hear horror stories about that device as well with some of the same problems! So my advice would be... Forget this thing! Save your money and save yourself the headache! Trust me on this! Then again you MIGHT get a real good working one just like the first one i bought and lost... So who knows but buyer definitely BEWARE!!!

it was great. But now it doesn't work
When it worked, it was great. But now it doesn't work. I rarely used for catching, mostly for spinning and filling my bag while driving to ball up in high poke stop areas. It works as described when I walk my dog. It will attempt to catch anything in range with one red ball. If it doesn't catch on the first throw, the pokemon runs. Depending on your level, medals, the month and what pokemon are common in your area and with the current weather, your catch rate will fluctuate accordingly (20-65%). When it works, you can spin stops while driving at about 20mph. As stated above, that was my primary use. I would dump all unwanted items and fill up with pinaps and balls before a community day or other special event. Or if I wanted red balls so it could work on its own, I dump all others and get several hundred red balls so it could auto catch while I walked in the forest near my house with the dog. The product was on my wrist for months at all times. Then it conked out. Would not hold a charge and the screen just stuttered nonsensically. Got another one, and it was like that too--on arrival! The third one worked, but only for a little while. The fact that I bought more tells you that I really like it. But the quality just isn't there. My brother gave me a Go Plus, so I'm going to take that out of the box now and try it. The fact that you get km on your eggs even when the phone screen is off but app open seems to be a great advantage. I want to up my km. Overall I REALLY liked the product. I just wish they had better quality control, the it would def be 5 stars.

Love My Go-tcha!
After reading so many 1-star reviews, I felt I had to give my Go-tcha a good long test period before actually reviewing it. I nearly returned it early on because it didn't seem to want to hold a charge. I would plug it into my portable charger overnight but it would only work for a few minutes. The longest was about 30 minutes one time, but the rest were five minutes or less. Out of desperation, I plugged it into my phone charger and it WORKED! It worked for several DAYS before needing to be charged again, and has worked like a charm for about ten months now. The portable charger works just fine for both my phone and tablet, so no clue why the Go-tcha wouldn't charge using it. I have used the Go-tcha nearly every day since getting it to work. It is WONDERFUL! I am typically the driver for a group of Pokemon Go players, and could not play and drive at the same time. The Go-tcha has solved that problem. In fact, I've grown so used to using it that the times it runs out of charge seem like disasters. ;D It does have its little quirks. Out of the blue it will sometimes turn on or off the "spin" or "catch" function all by itself, and sometimes it will take a really long time (half a minute or more) before finally spinning a pokestop or catching a pokemon. My biggest complaint is that there is no way to see how much charge is left on the battery and on several occasions I have had the charge run out in the middle of playing. I suspect the manufacturer's quality control isn't so great because one friend had one that burned out while charging for the 2nd time, and one friend who could never get her first one to work. Both have replacements now that work just fine. I would recommend persistence in getting replacements for those who have troubles, and to definately give it a try or two before giving up. Also, try using your phone charger if a different source doesn't work.
