Playmobil Ghostbusters Ecto-1

This is a really fun Playmobil Ecto-1. It has flashing roof lights (blue and red) and sound (see video for demo.) Each effect is controlled by its own switch on the top of the car. You can turn them on simultaneously or by themselves. The lights stay on until turned off but the sound goes through one cycle and then you have to turn it back on. It takes 3 AAA batteries which are not included. Ecto-1 has a front windshield and windshields around the back. The car doors do not open and there are no actual windows above the doors. You can open the back hatch. To put figures and accessories in, the roof comes off fairly easily. The kit is made in Germany and has 79 pieces. It took a little over an hour to assemble and does contain some stickers. The kit contains contains Winston Zeddmore and Janine Melnitz both of whom are in their Ghostbuster uniform. The figures can turn their heads, bend to sit and stand on their own. The kit also includes two proton packs and wands, a ghost trap, 4 slime splatters (which realy do stick to flat, smooth surfaces such as the side of the car) and a PKE meter for measuring psychokinetic energy. The other characters are available in the various other kits that have been released by Playmobil. Ghostbusters is Playmobil's first licensed product kits and based on the great quality, I hope there will be many more in the future. Ecto-1 fits really well in the bay of the firehouse which is sold separately. I'll include a photo of the car in the firehouse so you can see the scale of it in comparison.

I bought this as a present for my husband “from” my toddler as something they would have playing with together. My husband loves the Ghostbusters and my son loves anything with wheels so this hit the spot perfectly! We’re really impressed with how durable it is and how quality it feels. It’s been a month and has held up well to pretty vigorous play. Pros: Love that the siren and lights are controlled with separate buttons on the roof(the siren is 10 seconds and the lights are frosted and give a great glow too!) Love that it comes with Winston and Janine! Like how the whole roof rack comes off Like the matte plastic of the car’s body Cons: Wish the car doors opened (a little thing but my son really likes opening car doors) The caution stickers on the rounded tube on the roof rack won’t stay stuck on Pricier than I’d prefer but worth it if you’re a GB fan Doesn’t come with a ghost (though it does come with green slime splats!)

Awesome Ecto-1 full of so much detail and somewhat self explanatory to put together. Lights up and has sounds too. Bought the Ecto-1 and Slimer with the hotdog cart as accessories for the Firehouse set. All 3 sets are fantastic and well worth the money as they are full of details and well designed. The assembly is a bit of a headache.

Having been a child in the late 80’s and early 90’s, I loved the original Ghostbusters movies and toys made by Kenner. Until recently, you had to pay overinflated prices for the yellowed and broken Kenner models on Ebay. Not now!!! I got this Ecto-1 and all the rest of the playmobile toys for my 34 year old self 😊 Honestly, this Ecto-1 is SUPER IMPRESSIVE by almost any toy standard. Not to completely slight the ones I played with as a kid but this Ecto 1 a 10X better. The siren is an almost spot on match for the sound of the one in the movie. Some assembly is required but so what. It’s more life-like and true to the movie car then the 80’s Kenner one. The led lights are an awesome touch. Honestly…I bought it for my kids…but I like it too much to let them do to it as I did to my Kenner brand Ecto 1 back in the day…so it now spends its life back in the box until they’re older. If you’ve been wanting the Ecto-1 toy, I highly recommend this over the older Kenner made one or the way more expensive die-cast metal ones. Awesome toy, well done Playmobil!!!

Fantastic toy. If you're looking for an awesome Ecto-1 to put on the shelf or play, this one is perfect. Playmobil always does super detailed vehicle and this Ecto-1 is a perfect representation of the car for the price. Comes with two figures but can fit four comfortable. It has storage for the proton packs and a little spot of the ghost trap. The lights and sounds are spot on. The siren is great. Does come with very small parts so be careful with little children.

Such an excellent toy. Well-made. 228 pieces do offer a challenge in putting it together, but well worth it. He plays with it for hours. You should think about getting the little Ghostbusters men too because he puts them in it and they talk all day, EXCELLENT purchase

My son loved it,it makes the lights and sound well,and looks like it is said. This set also included 2 ghostbusters in it wich are nice, but the reason i dont give it 5 stars is since it dosn't roll good. But if you are a ghostbusters fan like my son, get this now!

This was so so so cool!!! My nephew loves ghostbusters and obsesses over it at times. This was a great toy and even my husband wanted to keep it. Now it has alot of small pieces u have to put together, do probably not the best for younger kids. My nephew is 6 years old and autistic so it wasnt really the best toy for him. He kept taking all the small pieces apart. So the small pieces r put up and he keeps driving the car around with the siren. Still well worth the money and dont regret it at all. He absolutely loves his ecto 1

I got this for my son’s birthday. He loves it! Authentic sounds and lights blink where he pushes the button as he plays. It is hard to find I got this one for a great price too

Darauf habe ich seit meiner Kindheit gewartet: Ein robuster, detailgetreuer Ecto-1 mit Original-Sound und Lichteffekten. Playmobil hat jedem Geisterjäger-Freund diesen Wunsch nun erfüllt. Der Einsatzwagen der Ghostbusters ist ein Krankenwagen auf Basis eines 1959er Cadillac Miller-Meteor. Der Name „ECTO-1“ stellt einen Bezug zum parapsychologischen Begriff des Ektoplasmas (englisch: „ectoplasm“) her. Der Ecto-1 hat die Maße 33 cm (Länge) x 13 cm (Höhe) x 12,5 cm (Tiefe). Per Knopfdruck lassen sich Licht (4x blinkendes Blaulicht + 1x rote Leuchte) und der Original-Sirenensound unabhängig voneinander aktivieren. Hierzu werden 3 x 1,5V Micro-Batterien benötigt, die nicht im Lieferumfang enthalten sind. Die Sirenen heulen ziemlich laut, pro Knopfdruck ca. 10 Sekunden. Für einen erneuten Sirenen-Einsatz muss man den Knopf, der sich auf dem Dach befindet, erneut drücken. Einmal eingeschaltet, blinkt das Licht hingegen in einer Endlos-Schleife, so lange, bis man es ausschaltet. Die Kofferraumtür kann geöffnet werden, die Autotüren leider nicht. Das mit zahlreichem Geisterjäger-Zubehör ausgestattete Dach ist abnehmbar, so können bis zu vier Figuren in dem Fahrzeug platziert werden. Im Fahrzeug befinden sich vier Halterungen für die Protonenpacks der Geisterjäger, die Geisterfalle kann im Heckteil untergebracht werden. Das „No Ghost“ Logo ist auf dem Kofferraum, der Fahrer- und der Beifahrertür aufgedruckt. Zu dem 79-teiligen Set gehören 2 Figuren: Winston Zeddemore und Janine Melnitz, beide im Ghostbuster-Anzug mit je einem abnehmbaren Protonenpack und dazugehörigen Protonenstrahlern. Außerdem gibt es eine aufklappbare Geisterfalle, einen PKE-Meter zur Messung der psycho-kinetischen Energie und vier grüne Schleimspritzer aus Silikon, die an glatten Oberflächen haften. Die beiden Protonenpacks, die am Rücken der Geisterjäger befestigt werden sollen, fallen leider immer ab, lassen sich nicht zusammenstecken. Ich habe sie mit einem kleinen Stück doppelseitigem Klebeband fixiert. Das hält prima und hinterlässt keine unschönen Klebe-Rückstände. Zu erwähnen ist noch, dass die Lieferung nicht - wie üblich - in einem Amazon-Karton erfolgte, sondern direkt im Playmobil-Karton ohne weitere Verpackung. Für mich war das ok. Sollte jemand es als Geschenk bestellen, ist diese Info wichtig. Wer mit dem Gedanken spielt, sich noch die Ghostbusters Feuerwache von Playmobil zu gönnen: Im Erdgeschoss befindet sich der Parkplatz für den Ecto-1 PLAYMOBIL 9219 - Ghostbusters Feuerwache . Fazit: Das Herzstück einer jeden Ghostbusters-Sammlung: Der coole, detailgetreue Ecto-1 zum erschwinglichen Preis in gewohnter Playmobil-Qualität. Klare Kauf-Empfehlung: 5 geisterhaft grün schleimende Sterne von mir. Der nächste Geistereinsatz kann kommen - die Sirenen sind schon startklar.
