Had surgery and one of the drains left an open wound of about an 1/2 inch in diameter which freaked me out!!. These are great for bigger open wounds that require healing. I like that you can cut them to size or any shape you’d like before applying to a specific area. I also like that Tegaderm allows you to completely cover the wound for better protection against infection. Happy to say my wound healed with NO infection in a short time.

Likes: perfect for nephrostomy tubes. easy to put on (with help) but easy to remove by yourself; Keeps the wound clean; smooth finish on the outside so close don't catch on it. In other words, it's not sticky on the outside. It does a fair job keeping water out. Not intended to take showers with! Dislikes: there's really not much wrong with this product; very difficult to put on by yourself (not the product's fault); if any part comes off of the skin, it will completely lose its adhesion, so don't pick on it! (I did not have a problem with it coming off accidentally). Not as waterproof as one might think. It will protect from outside moisture but not designed to run a shower head or swim with.

I’ve bought this many times to dress a chronic wound. The value is fantastic considering four of the 4x3 cost $18 in our local store. I have cut this product to fit and as long as you keep track of the separating edge it works out fine. No skin damage as compared to traditional medical tape.

I had a bad reaction to Sandiderm. It had ripped my skin and left a mark. Derm Shield was great but pricey. A good, cheap alternative was Tegaderm. The edges peel easier but overall it sticks well.

This is by far the best type of bandage to use. Purchasing these sheets gives you so much flexibility to address different size wounds. Wounds heal so much faster when using tegaderm than they do with a band aid or nothing at all.

I was introduced to this product at an inline skating clinic and found that it worked fantastic before and after a skate for damaged/road abraided skin. Easily cut for customizing I have used or given away over 20- 4x4-3/4 patches to individuals that have had road abrasion accidents in the last month. Large patches have to be changed constantly to remove the built-up lymph fluid and new dressing re-applied. Do not try to cheap out like I did and put a small patch on the vent hole you might create. It will never seal properly and you will take it all up and put a brand new one on. Trust me! Unfortunately, in inline skating - road rash is a normal occurance even with pads on. Great to have in the arsenal of healing gear and it is my last resort for instant pain relief - hopefully I will not have to cover that much area but you never know. Will cut up to smaller sizes as due date of 2014 approaches. Fingers crossed. This product makes it painless to treat road rash and allows you to heal fast. It only took a week to get new skin back on my elbow - hopefully without most visible scars. Ditto for one on the hip. Also works great for cuts and is much cheaper than Elastoplast/Band-Aid versions found in your local pharmacies. Fantastic for young children since the pain goes away almost immediately and the wound heals rapidly in a moist environment. Did I mention the adhesive will not stick to the repairing skin!

Holds up and keeps the wound dry for a long time.
