The syllabus has changed since the version of these books I had, however the content is superb. Every subject is explained in great detail, all key points highlighted, plenty of real examples given. I would recommend these to anyone. Even once seasoned networking professionals that need a quick refresh. When you combine these books with video content from the likes of CBT Nuggets, you have all the material you need to get started in the world of networking.
