Outstanding small X-Y table for precision work, recommended!
This is the best small X-Y table I've used and I highly recommend it for any small work. The gibs are very tight and precise and both axes move very smoothly with the traverse knobs. The ways are protected from chips, the gibs are adjustable, and the scales on both knobs plus a linear scale on the X-table are adjustable for ease of use. I work with watches and small clocks so this table is ideal for my use, and it's currently mounted to a precision micro-drill-press (Cameron 164). I can position any work item very precisely and it will be held securely for drilling. The graduated dials make positioning very easy and accurate. I am currently using this table with the Proxxon 24260 precision vise (excellent) and the Proxxon 24256 step clamps, both of which work well with this table. I'm an engineer and machinist and I have had several inexpensive import X-Y tables before that were practically unusable due to sloppiness, crude construction or poor fit of components, this table is completely superior to all of them and totally out of their league. Note that I am not associated or affiliated with Proxxon in any way, I just appreciate a well-made tool and I'm very pleased that Proxxon is able to offer these at such reasonable prices. An important cautionary statement: This is a SMALL X-Y table, it will not work well for large items and you cannot put a massive milling machine vise on it (like, for example, a Kurt D30 3" vise) it's just too small. If the Proxxon vise mentioned above is too small for you, I would recommend a 2" screwless toolmaker's vise, but nothing larger. Also, this table should be excellent for milling "easier" materials like brass, aluminum, plastic or jeweler's wax, and possibly mild steel if you are careful. But I wouldn't recommend it for tool steel, stainless or anything harder, it's not that the table is inadequate in it's own right, it's just too small and lightweight and you'll get too much vibration to get a smooth cut.

Precise and rugged.
After making initial slide tolerance adjustments (instructions are clear), I found this table is remarkably accurate and rigid. Essentially no backlash as well, in the slide wheels. I loved the clamps they provide with the table too. I had researched several before selecting this one, and I’m glad I did. The Japanese quality is evident and most pleasing. It’s very easy to re-zero the slide travel indicators and they are snug. Minor adjustments on the slide v-ways allowed me to use the little crank handles and move quickly, smoothly and accurately. I’m been machining aluminum without a problem. It took a while to adjust my bench-top drill press for spindle wiggle. Any vibration there will make chatter in the cut. Very pleased. This is a good-value product too. I have no problem having to fine-tune the table for essentially perfect operation within a 1/2 hour. If it were done by the supplier it would have increased the price, and down the road, I would need to do it again after significant use and some wear accumulated. I expect I’ll get long and enjoyable use out of this product.

SMALL, SMALL, SMALL but good quality works nice
I had got it in my head this think was bigger than it is. When it arrived in a tiny light box I very surprised. My two hands can cover the entire table. Build quality seems decent and I have been enjoying doing some really light milling on the drill press. Cut some holes in a aluminum bar I could have never done otherwise. Way too light for steel even aluminum seems to be pushing it a bit.

Excellent quality but small
Quality is exceptional for home use. Mounts for holding parts are a bit fiddly, but fine. Perfect for my table top drill press, albeit it small. Bonus points for it being Made in Japan! (Explains great quality)

Best at this size and price
Impressed with the quality and finish. Not made in China - this product does not have any of the flaws that other products have and has great quality control and customer service. Works perfectly right out of the box. This is made for their micro mill so some adapting is needed for general use. Also it’s a metric table so all the hardware is metric be advised. I bolted an mdf plate to my drill press, tapped 8-32 epoxy threads into that for the screw holes on the table. Currently using a cheapo amazon vise on top but that will be replaced soon. Very happy with this product and I was expecting the worst. Great investment.

WORTHLESS
This item is absolutely worthless. It is not even close to what Amazon tells you it is. It would be better sol;d a a kids toy rather than a piece of equipment. I would advise everyone that is looking to buy a cross vise table not to buy this from Amazon because it is a piece of nothing.

Won't stay clamped for low-speed, low-powered drilling in soft aluminum.
I really thought I had a winner here... I used this on another recent purchase, my Wen drill press (the little cheap one- pretty good value, btw). The packaging left a bit to be desired, the table is held in the box with nothing but a little cardboard, and the hardware was in a little plastic bag... but thankfully the table didn't appear to be broken. I used this to drill less than a dozen small diameter, shallow holes into 6063 aluminum that was less than 5mm thick. The pieces were pretty small, about 80mm x 19mm. Anyway, at first it held up just fine, and it appeared that the shavings were kept out of the works by the little plastic covers, so I wasn't concerned with how dinky it is compared to most slide tables. Well, after the first use (eight 6mm holes) I didn't get a chance to use it again for a couple of weeks, so it sat on my drill press, undisturbed. I went back to use it a few days ago, and though I clamped down my pieces tightly (but not over-tight, I do know better) I noticed a bit of slop in my work results after two holes weren't aligned as they should've been. I checked every bolt holding down the workpiece, the table to the drill platform, the platform to the drill post, and the drill head/bit itself for excessive play... couldn't find anything amiss, so I snugged everything back and tried to continue. What happened next is the reason this isn't getting a 5 star review... I got maybe 2mm deep into my next hole (using appropriate bits for aluminum, and the press, and yes I was using cutting oil) and the workpiece flew out of the table between my arm and ribs, landing somewhere in the back of my garage. When this happened, of course there was no longer anything between the dill bit and the table so now the table is gouged. After I got assessed the situation I tried putting a few small wooden blocks on the table, and tested the holding power of the clamp set with a little hand rotation on the secured blocks- they gave. I tried tightening them a little more, and they still slipped out from under the clamp. As best as I can tell, the clamping parts are prone to warping *just enough* to allow for play under load, even a very light load (my drill press bogs down easily, and I go sloooooowly with my feed, except when I yank myself back to avoid ballistic workpieces). So, I've gathered up what came with it, and am attempting to return it... If it's accepted without issue, I'll gladly give it another star, because for someone who works strictly with very soft materials and very small scales, it could be useful... though a bit spendy for what it can actually do. I have already ordered what I hope will be a better solution, and will review that once I get to use it a reasonable amount. Update 11/21: Amazon has issued my refund, two days after calling and one day after pickup. If you're working with soft materials, need a small slide table, and don't mind DIYing a solution to secure your pieces then this will work fairly well.

Exactly what I expected
Pros: Operation very smooth, once I position a peace it stays in place. that is what it is supposed to do. the pre-made mounting hols were perfect on my Praxxon drill press. I mounted a 3rd party vice on top and it works great. Of course, after adding all this most of my z-axis got sucked up. but I don't drill miniature hols on big items very often. .I would buy this again. Cons: the provided hardware is aluminium, It would be nice if the forward and back axis had more range. NOTE: the cranking is smooth but a little stiff. neither pro nor con. if it was a loose crank the platform may not stay in place perfectly.
