Olympus xD-Picture Card M+ 2 GB

Worked perfectly for my old Fujifilm camera from 2001. I swapped out my old 128MB card for this 2GB card and could take tons of pictures on my vacation at the 3M setting and never came close to filling it. I did not notice any speed improvement when taking pictures. The biggest factor in speed for me is the battery quality. Switching from cheap batteries to Kodak KudAA4 Ultra Digital Alkaline AA Batteries - 4 Pack made a huge difference, especially when flash turned on due to power drain characteristics between pictures to charge up for flash again. So all that I saw was dramatically increased capacity (16X) which worked without a problem. I couldn't be more thrilled. Definitely go to the Olympus website or your camera's website and check picture card compatibility. The manual for my camera was out of date and only listed a max of 256MB and said nothing about these newer "M" and "M+" card types. But a quick check on the Fujifilm website linked me to an Olympus compatibility site which listed a large table of camera models and support. Some cameras require a firmware update to support more. My old camera was listed as supporting xD M+ up to 2GB without a firmware update when some newer models than mine needed an update to go beyond 1GB. It seems most support up to 1GB without a problem, and 1/2 support 2GB without an update, another 1/2 (minus a few) up to 2GB with a firmware update, and a few didn't support it. Bottom line, check the online chart for compatibility first. If it lists your model number and doesn't say anything about needing a firmware update, you should be fine. This is an excellent value and works perfectly (check your camera compatibility online, not the outdated manual). I can't imagine any reason not to buy the max your camera supports if the price is very reasonable.

This is the ONLY memory card possible with the Olympus Stylus Tough 8000, which I first saw several years ago on a TV ad in which it was abused with falling, icy water bath, dog biting, etc. That ad sold me on it. Little did I know at the time that it's proprietary memory card was only 2gigs big; not that I ever had a problem with it being filled up--the battery ran out of juice before that ever happened. The problem--and it was the only problem I could find--was that the Olympus Stylus Tough 8000 quickly became obsolete (I still have thousands of stills & vids: please see my Facebook page) because the memory card capacity is small compared to what you can get nowadays (64gigs+) on other action cameras, and I was just starting to learn all of the features, when two bandidos stole it off my Doublevision. Despite my desire to replace it, those thieves really took some of the best vid yet, elementary school students signing the former President Francisco I. Madero at a ceremony at Casa de Adobe, Cd. Juarez. Incidentally, that is a magnificent site, far superior to anything the USA has done, relinquishing Boundary Marker 1 to know more than a Border Patrol turn around point.

I think this is a good product and works well. The price is alot to handle. Bought it for a friend.

Even though Wikipedia said the "xD" picture card is officially obsolete as of 2010, there are still many thousands and thousands of "Olympus and FujiFilm" cameras that these memory cards can be used in. We recently upgraded from our 7 year old FujiFilm FinePix A340 to a Canon PowerShot A3100IS because of the smaller factory installed 64Mb memory card.. and the limited number of pictures/movie length (along with having NO sound capabilities with the A340), that was limited on the A340. Instead of throwing our old FujiFilm camera away, I decided to use it as our bumming around/backup unit.. and as such, upgraded the camera's "firmware" to allow the use of the larger/faster "xD M+" card memory. "Read/Write" speeds increased from the old 64Mb "M" memory of 1.3/5.. to that of the replaced "M+" memory of 3.75/6. Picture capacity and movie length increased from 33 pictures and less than 60 seconds of movies to that now being available of 4,264 pictures.. and a much longer movie time! That's right. Picture capabilities increased a additional 4,231 shots.. all for less than a "$14 Dollar" bill. Now how can you beat that!? P.S. So the question is.. "Why did we purchase a new Canon when all of the above was done for less than $14.00?" What can I say? As a camera nut, what's one more to the several that we already own? (wink)

Hate that I had to buy a proprietary memory card, but I got the camera at a goodwill so cheap I can't complain. Works great in a really old Olympus Tough 7megapixel camera! Really what can you say about a memory card you have to get. It's supposedly the fasted I can get for my model camera, so not a lot of choice. Seems fast enough and it will hold over 500 photos at this low a resolution so if you're looking at this card, I'd say get this as it's the biggest and the fastest for XD cards, not to mention ;you can't find these in the store. I'd buy one soon if you need it before the market makes them very; hard to find and very expensive! Overpriced for 2gb, but still under $20 right now, who knows as less becomes available.

XD...Hmmm...I find it most interesting that Olympus finally put this bankrupt iteration of storage in their 'oops' closet. Other strange and impossible to quantify products include: Memory Stick, and Lisa, and let us not forget 'Edsel'. But for those of us enamored of the robust nature of the entire Stylus line, and their capacity to deliver good images (great, maybe?) in the worst of conditions, they are a pocket-camera that has earned a well-deserved reputation and a place in my pants-pocket, but they need those stupid 'XD' cards...I had my latest Stylus stolen, and with it, the battery and card. Thieves. Pond-Scum, y'know? So, I found another Stylus online, and ordered this card and a battery, as when the weather turns, I gots (sic) to have me a camera that can take it. Haven't tried a Stylus, yet? You'll be sold, I ga-ran-tee youse, you'll love it. Tough, and the low-light shots will 'get the shot' for you that you might not otherwise realize. And I beat the dogs__t out of my first Stylus for eight long years of a daily diet of abuse, falls and impacts before it finally failed to power up one morning. Purty good service, if'n you ask me...

This is a great card, has served me faithfully over the few months that I've used it, and I will be buying one more like it. So far, I've been able to take pictures of a lot of things with it (I bought it for use with my Olympus E-500 DSLR MFT camera) and everything's turned out great; I can shoot with it in the RAW format, or I can set it to the other formats (TIFF, SHQ, HQ, SQ) and get more pictures on one card (the RAW format, although amazing, only lets me get about 100 pictures a card.) Was glad that Amazon still had these cards, as this media format and the cameras it supports are no longer being made (I bought the camera at a local flea market here in Toronto.) Recommend this card to anybody that needs one for a camera like it, or just for data storage.

This seller was great. Overnight shipping. Item arrived in factory sealed Olympus cardboard materials. I cannot remember if it had a plastic "clamshell" case as I ordered so many, I forget, I do apologize about that. I have not developed any of the pictures yet, so I do not know the quality of the images. I was able to do special effects, etc. with no problem. These camera cards are difficult to find since Olympus is the only seller. But these fit perfectly, and I've had not problems. I will be getting some developed within a week or 2, but until then I don't know the quality of the developed picture. The picture looks great on my camera screen though.
