Incredible price-performance
Picked this up used for 71 dollars and honestly did not expect much since it was only meant to be a temporary placeholder until I move to a 13900K. For a 4 core 8 thread CPU this thing seriously impressed me. It exceeded my expectations in almost every way. Multitasking is smooth and responsive which is something Intel has always done well. Even without E cores the extra threads help keep things moving during gaming and recording. As a content creator I rely a lot on strong single core and multicore performance and this CPU handled my workflow without stutters or slowdowns. For a budget chip that can handle games and light to mid workloads this CPU is an absolute killer.

Stellar price to performance ratio!
Bought used, came in original packaging and with the cooler. From the experience so far, I couldnt care less that it was used. Plays every game I care about pretty well, sometimes very well. Surprisingly powerful little cpu, especially at $50-60. Runs very cool. Feel a bit ridiculous using an AIO on it, BUT frankly I already had it and wanted to use it. I will give the aio an i9 or something in a couple years as a treat. For the time being, great little CPU that lets me game and live stream, once I optimized things a bit.

If you can still find these 12th-generation processors, they are great!
Bought this processor to game, and it works just fine. Also, being 12th Generation, it doesn't have any of the downsides of earlier or LATER generations: 13th and 14th can burn themselves out, slowly over time. This 12th Generation does not have that flaw! I haven't overclocked this thing, I just slapped it into a mobo a couple of years ago. It's currently paired with an AMD 6800XT and it plays all the games I throw at it just fine. Starfield, Skyrim, Marvel's two most recent hero games, they all play with great framerate on a 1440p monitor.

GET THIS CPU
At the moment it is extremely difficult to beat this cpu with price for performance, if you want a good mid-range cpu for gaming that can handle most popular titles including some that are fairly hard to run with over 60 (and sometimes 100+) frame per second then grab one of these. Very smooth desktop/general use experience, with just a little bit of computer knowledge setting it up is extremely easy whether you’re upgrading or building from scratch this is a great choice. The stock fan works well but is quite noisy so I would suggest upgrading to a noctua or something. I highly suggest looking into second hand 1080tis at the moment as they can be snagged for way cheap and they pair beautifully with this cpu.

Does the job right
Solid, good for simple 3d animation in SFM and plays games just fine without overheating. The stock cooler is more than enough to keep it running smoothly. Doesn't suck up too much power while idle or when in use.

More power than I'll ever need
This has enough power to play ALL games. I don't have a single one in my library that uses more than 50% of this CPU. It plays GTA 5, satisfactory, far cry 6, cities skylines, and it can even play UEBS 2 with 4 million A.I. enemies. I've only ever seen this hit 100% on benchmarks. Just because it's an i3, don't think it's weak. 12th gen i3's are more powerful than i7's of older generations. Don't buy the i5, i7, or i9. This is more than enough. Update 5-25-2024 This processor is still going strong and can still play modern games. Runs sons of the forest like a champ never hitting 100%. Unfortunately I have found 2 games this struggles to run. Star citizen and grey zone warfare. It is 100% the entire time on both of these games. Grey zone warfare can still run at 80fps on ultra settings at 4k, but Star citizen bogs down so bad it's almost unplayable. But still, even in 2024 it's still a great buy and I still recommend. Update 7-18-2024 I upgraded to a Rtx 4070 graphics card and this CPU still isn't bottlenecking. I can now achieve over 120fps at 4K before my graphics card bottleneckes, but this CPU still only gets up to about 80%. Can run at over 120fps on most games. I also did some video editing with this and it was very fast. Never stuttered even once. Not gonna upgrade until 16th or 17th gen chips at least. Maybe later if it's still keeping up with modern games as well as it is now.

It's a 12th Gen i3, its reliable and does what is says it can do on the box.
This is running my home server without issue. I looked at my needs and bought this chip. It's functional, fast, quiet, stays cool and I've had zero unplanned downtime.

I'm sure I'm stealing someone else description, but it is such a great entry level CPU. I'm just using it for gaming, which an RX 6600 XT, and not had any CPU bottlenecking at all. The chip runs light on power, temps have been fine, way less than than I used to get on an i5 in the laptop. I'm only running 1 fan on the case, and the room can often get to 26-28 C in summer, but thermals are still great. Very happy, and would highly recommend. Also Amazon was super quick on delivery!
