This is a good awning. Installation was pretty straightforward.
The awning is well constructed and solid. I had a slight shipping issue so that's the reason for deducting one star. I replaced the screws for the mounting rail with shorter ones. I also didn't find the main screws that hold the arms to the RV wall were very good. I used another type of self-drilling screw. The instructions weren't great but they were good enough to figure it out. I slid the awning into the groove on the wall first then installed on the roller. Also you should lube the awning and the dowels with something ( I used Super Slick Slick Stuff) . FOLLOW-UP: After I got this installed I proceeded to bend one of the arms. This was purely my fault. My trailer has a latch on the rear that swings more than 180 degrees around to the side of the trailer where the awning was mounted. I closed the awning while the latch was in the way. The motor must have some serious torque because the part that bend was pretty beefy. I contacted Awnlux and sent pictures of the damaged part. They did charge me for shipping the replacement, but the customer service was excellent and the new part got to me very quickly. I'm raising my rating to 5 stars in response to fantastic service.

Good product
Installation was easy with good instructions. I am a handy guy not prone to reading them but when I had questions it was not hard to get answers. There were 2 references. The only improvement would be on calculating the height position of the rails. I got it but that aspect could have been better. The adjustments for the limits was tricky at first but soon as I figured it out it went great. Awning is working good. It is awesome to be able to control from inside the motorhome without going outside as I mounted the switch on the cabinet by the door. I find the adjustment knobs for the height of the awning when extended work as long as there is no wind at all. The second there is any little gust the adjustment will slide. The pressure provided by the twisty knob is not enough to hold the position it was adjusted to in any kind of wind gust. Very disconcerting when it happens. I have added a small bungee strap to provide extra force to keep the adjustment in place with lite winds and obviously it has to be retracted for any moderate winds. Does hold better when only extended a little bit. If you want to get better wind resilience you will need to devise a way to secure the roller to the ground via a pole or strap when fully extended. I have seen that done with straps and screening. Overall not as good as others I have seen but this one was much more affordable and is a good product. Was actually not much more than a manual unit. Good buy I like it

Great value for the money. Very pleased with how it mounted.
Worked better than I thought it would. Need to watch mounting so it doesn’t interfere with exit door. We switched out a manual awning with this electric awning.

Life is Easy!
I purchased this to replace an old awning I had on my LQ 3 Horse Slant. It is so easy to release the lock and hit the button to watch the awning unfold evenly and perfect every time. To close it up, hit the remote and again, you are easily ready to lock up things to leave camp. I LOVE THIS! FYI: Installation wasn't awful to accomplish but you should have some mechanical savy!

INSTALLING
The only page in the manual that you need is how many inches to add to the brace on centers. Mine was 14 ft so actual was 14’3’’ . Burn the other pages. If you HAD an awning and the wind blew it off - this unit will work with the fabric rails already there - if you didn’t remove them. Step 1 - install brackets with the 2 holes facing up and the 1 hole down exactly 5 inches from the top of camper and on center based on size. Do not use a drill except to make a pilot hole - Gap side of bracket out so arm can slide under the lip. Do not remove the velcro. Use the large screws to carefully hand tighten the top 3 holes 1st because the bracket aligns with a hole in the arm. Then screw bottom. The middle screw can be put in later. Step 2 If you are using the included fabric runners, measure up 5” from where you put them for the brackets. Use the included gray tube and feed through the top of fabric 1st. After tube is fed - slide through the rails until equal distance between brackets. Let the fabric hang and screw the 2 small self tapping screws into top of fabric rail. Step 3 Use small screws and attach the roller poles together - make sure the motor is on the side where switch is/going to be. Use other gray tube and feed through the bottom of fabric. Without rollers attached to arms - use 2 people to feed the bottom fabric through the slot of roller arm. Remove velcro and SLOWLY lower arms while holding roller with 2 people. Step 4 Use the 2 bolts to attach the roller to each arm. I used a ladder to hold the middle - this takes a little effort because the arms are longer than the fabric so you have to bolt 1 side and then release some tension to get the other side Once bolted - make sure fabric is equal distance from each end of roller. Temp wire the motor and slowly retract until motor stops - use the green tool included to adjust close distance to - about 10 turns is 2 ft - once you get 2” from fully closed - only turn about 1/4 turn until it closes flush Extend awning and use same procedure using other hole in motor to fully open where flap hangs. Note - if fabric starts to bunch up or shift, it needs adjusting at the top of camper - just pull 1 or 2” until it rolls straight Step 6 - Extend and Retract a few times - some popping and creeking is normal. Now - install middle 2 arm screws - hand tighten. Throw all the extra crap away I put a dab of F26 on the screws going into camper for extra strength You need - 3 people and 2 ladders Good luck

Impressed!
Better quality than most I have seen. The arms are heavier materials than usual with better fasteners and hardware too. I’m impressed with the 16’ unit I bought and installed myself. Easy enough for most mechanically inclined folks, even with the bad Chinese translated instructions.
