EGO POWER+ String Trimmer, Battery Powered, 15" Trimmer for Weeds and Grass with POWERLOAD, Includes 56V 4.0Ah Battery and Charger - ST1523S

I was one of those people that would use a gas powered line trimmer and I absolutely hated it which meant I would trim like 2 times per year to reduce the amount of swearing and kicking that I did. When I was shopping for a new trimmer, I knew that I would never want to hand load the line and never have to try and clean the carburator ever again.... Well this EGO trimmer is absolutely fantastic in solving those 2 issues and so much more. The auto load on this is amazing, it starts up the minute I pull the trigger and the variable speed on the unit has my line lasting so much longer. Its relatively light weight and well balanced so its easy to move and adjust. The adjustment hand holder is good for being able to go from trimming to edging while keeping the tool comfortable to use. The battery life is every bit as much as 45 minutes, so if I want to go full out I don't even mind edging the driveway and sidewalks every other week or so. Just a much more enjoyable experience and I'm really glad I made the switch. I really like the product line that EGO puts out (good construction quality) and I'm considering going to one of their leaf blowers next to complement this guy.

I have other EGO tools, so that was the initial drive to get a new string trimmer, but after getting this in-hand and using it.... WOW!!! It is wonderfully light and easy to move around with, without any type of supporting harness. It was preloaded with string which was nice, but that means I have not yet used the PowerLoad feature yet. I am also very impressed with how well it sliced through my grass. One thing I was key to try out was the bump-head to feed out more line... and it worked FLAWLESSLY. I've used string trimmers for 20+ years and I've never had one feed line so smoothly. I had quite a bit of trimming to do, but the 4.0ah battery easily let me work for 30 minutes with plenty of power left still in the battery. I have used gas trimmers up to this point, but I am very happy with the move to this battery powered trimmer.

I've had an old Craftsman 20V trimmer for years, which starts out weak on a fresh battery and then slowly becomes more and more useless for the next 20 minutes until the battery thankfully goes dead. After paying my dues with that thing, it was finally time to get something good. I wasn't familiar with this brand, and was leaning towards one of the known quality names like Dewalt, but after reading multiple reviews that placed this at the top of the pack, I made the jump. Holy cow, this thing is powerful! It has a switch that controls max speed, and I keep it on the low setting, and even then I usually don't have the trigger all the way depressed unless I'm cutting brush and thick stalks. Adding new string is just as easy as advertised. My curb has been a mess for decades, completely overgrown with grass and several inches of well rooted dirt. The old trimmer couldn't do much about it (I wish I'd taken a picture of it before). This trimmer cleared out all the grass AND dirt to create a nice professional edge in one relatively quick session, even allowing me to sink a small groove like the pros do! The battery charger is excellent, with a fan that comes on to manage the temperature. The batteries themselves have a level check indicator with a push of a button, allowing me to easily manage them. The 56V system has crazy power at full tilt that lasts about 25 minutes or so with the 2.0Ah battery if you're tackling 2 ft of growth, but now that I've knocked down the big stuff and caught my yard up, the battery lasts over an hour at a time because I can use it at low setting for ordinary edging and clean-up. This thing is a monster, especially if you buy the optional 4.0Ah battery, it ain't light. But the trade-off for the power to do anything and everything is well worth it. I should have gotten this a long time ago.

ABSOLUTELY love it. It's just as powerful as a gas trimmer. LOVE, LOVE LOVE the power load feature. Light weight. Easy to use. I haven't had a chance to use it fully because the Ego Battery that came with the trimmer was defective. So I had to quickly contact customer service to report the problem and request a WORKING Battery that takes 10-15 days to receive. Luckily, I had already purchased a 2nd 56V 5.0 Battery compatible with the EGO Trimmer that actually WORKED. Go figure. So this sort of killed my desire to use it to test its full capacity and run time. Despite the dead Battery, I still believe it's an awesome trimmer. I suggest you buy a 2nd backup Battery compatible for the Ego Trimmer . 4 Stars only because the Ego Battery was defective.

I've bought Stihl products for about 40 years, so when I was first interested in a battery powered trimmer I looked at a couple of their models at my local Ace. Right off the bat, the trigger release mechanism was hard to work on every display unit they had, and the employee couldn't get them to work any better. Their quality has really tanked over the last decade! Anyways, I did some research on other brands and decided to give this E-GO unit a try. So far I'm pretty impressed. It was easy to set up, and easy to use. The fit and finish is good and the trigger release works really well! I have a half acre with about two dozen trees, 75' of shrubs, and another 100' or so of landscape beds that I trim around which takes about 20 minutes. I used the low speed setting for thin areas and switched to high for the thicker stuff. I ended up with half battery life remaining when I was done, which would work out to about 40 minutes run time. The unit is a bit heavy (but expected with such a large battery) and the bump head is super sensitive...even letting out line if you get a little sloppy with controlling the unit and it slightly hits the ground. I really like the fact that nothing is running and there is no noise as I move between areas. All in all I would recommend this trimmer.

I bought my first unit exactly three years ago, and right on cue, the battery stopped working almost to the day the warranty expired. Late I bought a second unit, in my innocence still having a bit of faith in online reviews, and the battery does NOT work. Complained to them to no avail. They want me to pay shipping back to them. Every time poor customer service. Buy at your own risk. They are better products out there that I am satified with. Ego batteries: stay away

Powerfull and not so heavy. There is 2-speed option. Battery last easily more than 30 min and charge in 50 min which is great!
