Why did you pick this product vs others?: Don't bother. Doesn't work the buttons are all bound together.you hit a and the c up is pressed also ect

Feels like an authentic GCN controller, however the wiring is extremely cheap. The D-Pad just mirrors the stick and the C-stick mirrors the ABXY buttons. This makes it completely unusable if you want to play any games that require either the D-Pad or C Stick.

Works decently with Dolphin Emulator, specifically Mario Kart Wii. A thing to keep in mind is that the buttons are mapped incorrectly. HOWEVER -- if you plan to use this for Dolphin Emulator on Windows, I had no issues remapping the buttons to the correct ones. D-Pad is a little funky, too. It feels like you have to press a little harder than usual for the D-Pad buttons to register an input. Joysticks and the rest of the buttons/triggers feel alright, but you're definitely getting what you paid for in terms of quality. It doesn't get more "getting what you paid for" than this, but that's not exactly a bad thing. I've seen other people have issues with wiring and it's worth noting it does not have a rumble feature like advertised.

Okay first off, if you're having issues connecting this controller to your computer, try using another USB port, because that was my first issue, and apparently the same issue that others were having. Once I found the USB port on my Desktop, the Dolphin emulator reconized it and it started working. If you have a laptop with limited USB ports, I hope it works for you. Overall I think this controller is very good for the price I bought it for. It does have some minor issues, but I can't complain due to only spending $15 USD. After mapping all the buttons and playing Gamecube games on my PC, it felt very satisfying. To my knoledge these L and R buttons aren't pressure sensitive like the offical controller would be. The only game I can think of when it comes to using the pressure sensitivity of the L and R buttons is Luigi's Mansion when using the vaccum. I can tell this thing isn't as durable in comparison to the offical Gamecube controller due to the plastic it was made with and with how light it feels. That being said, it probably won't age well if you're not careful with it. I won't be surprised if something breaks due to my own user error, such as pressing a button too hard during a boss fight or something, but that's me trying to find things to complain about. Again... It was cheap and I can't be mad. So far it's doing great, but I've only unboxed it about an hour ago and played some Windwaker to test the ropes, and it worked great!

After a lot of testing and tuning the controller I found a number of problems some manageable others not so much. To start yes the controller is analog the prior users review was user error. That said in my case this became clear very quickly that the internal wiring was done poorly because while everything registered its proper button or input several commands were cross wired. Example: while turning the camera or moving using the analog sticks my controller would attempt to lock on or strafe or crouch at certain angles. Now that implies that the wiring itself poorly done likely rushed where the leads may just be too sloppy. Causing overlap of input on the hardware side. If that were fixed it’s a five star product but if you cannot keep functions separate this controller is ultimately useless. This product is a an unfortunate case of you pay for the quality you get. Poor quality low price. If this issue was more carefully handled it would be well worth the plug and play function as it was easy to set up otherwise.
