Kautilya's Arthashastra

This book doesn't have clear explanation of what exactly Kauthilya meant.

Horrible kindle format. Unreadable. Don't waste your money

Infelizmente não consegui abrir este livro. Todas as vezes que tentei meu Kindle deu "tultiz", isto é, travou geral! Nunca mais abri e fiquei muito curiosa em ler. Estava lendo H. Kissinger A oredem Mundial e ele cita Kautilya's. Fiquei curiosa e...muito decepcionada. Nem posso avaliar porque não li, mas gostaria muiiiiiiiiiiiiiito!

This book has nothing to do with Kautilya original Arthashastra, is just a number of selected quotes picked for marketing purposes. The result was that I had to buy again the real Arthashastra.

This book is a translation of Chanakyas Arthshastra. I don't know Sanskrit therefore as a benefit of doubt I am giving it 5 stars. It is a well binded book and small in size.

I wanted a copy of the Arthashastra. This book is composed almost entirely of all notes from the editor/interpreter and at times it's impossible to work out which bits are from Kautilya and which bits are just interpretation. If there's a copy of the Arthashastra out there (plain version, no notes or "helpful" interpretation) please let me know!

A fine book providing an overview of Mauryan policies and objectives. No wonder the advancement of the policies used created such a vast and strong empire.A worth read to grasp the relevance of it. Though at some places author gets misrepresented while comparing ancient and modern India. Intermixing of subjects like governance and economics is not properly dealt with. Would like to read more detailed chapters when I will get some time.
