PrepPen Adjustable Sanding Pen

My family purchased a used car with a few rock chips in the paint that had been terribly touched up by the dealership or previous owner. There were a couple more chips with slight rusting or oxidation that also needed addressing. This tool worked perfectly to clean out and smooth the edges of the chip prior to me performing a more competent touch up. If you've done these sort of repairs in the past you may have folded up a tiny piece of sandpaper or otherwise done something makeshift for lack of a precision tool or method. For just a few bucks this product is a no-brainer solution.

These work great for detailed sanding! My only gripe is that they wear down pretty quickly, but I'm not sure if that problem can be fixed.

I'm sure there are plenty of uses for this fiberglass pen. I mostly use it on vintage circuit boards, to clean off corrosion. works well

I mainly use this sanding pen to clean electrical contact points, wiring or tarnished and corroded area's around and inside electric outlets. It works very well giving a clean contact area. I've used this little pen many time to clean out corrosion in battery compartments from old leaky batteries. I've even used this to remove latex paint spray that got on a leather belt. I used the fiber pen and saddle soap in combination to remove the paint, then finished with a good leather balm to restore an even coloration. Don't be afraid to use the sanding pen with mild detergent and water to clean a small area. I found this sanding pen to be very useful in removing just about anything, but you have to be careful since the fibers are very abrasive and can scratch or mare delicate painted or finished items. Start out by gently rubbing the pen over the area and look at the results before proceeding. Go Slow take a little off at a time, and observe the warnings and cautions about fiber dust and protecting your eyes and skin. The sanding pen comes with an extra fiber refill in the handle. I wish the point was smaller. I bought this to sand down paint chips on the hood of my car. Most of the chips are very small because they were caused by small road debris. The point is just a little too big to move around and actually remove the rust. In other words, I'd have to sand off some of the surrounding paint in order for this to work. On the bigger chips, it was effective.

It actually removed the rust, all the way down to the metal. It was effortless. I'll still get the re-painting done professionally, but I'm so happy thus is there for emergencies.
