I picked up a beginner tattoo pen kit to try my hand at tattooing, and overall I’m pretty happy with where I’m starting. The pen feels light in my hand — much easier to control than some bulky machines. The kit came with a variety of cartridge needles, which is awesome for practicing different things like lining and shading. The power supply is straightforward, and the foot pedal works reliably so I don’t feel like I’m fighting the machine. It also included some practice skin, which is super helpful for learning without worrying about real skin. One thing to watch out for: make sure your needles are sterilized and follow safety protocols — even beginner kits need to be used responsibly.

Comes with 1 transfer sheet, 1 skin, ink, needle cartridges, power supply, pedal, tat pen and cable for the tat pen. I’m more familiar with coil and rotary guns just an fyi this is my first time using the pen and I love it. Below are some things to keep in mind and to trouble shoot the cable that connects to the pen. 1. The tat pen is excellent, low in noise. Easy set up, easy cleaning, easy maintenance. 2. The RCA Cable that connects to the pen kept going in and out of power. This was happening because of the copper housing around the node that goes into the pen was losing grip and not making full contact. I adjusted the copper housing inward just slightly to give it a firm fit. You can use needle nose pliers or a hard surface to gently apply pressure to bend it into place and that solves the connection problem. 2. Pedal is light duty but is great for the starter kit and works as needed. Don’t go stomping on it because you’re having issues. Take a step back and evaluate the set up, tinker around and make sure everything is connected properly. 3. Ink is great for practice. I wouldn’t use it on myself or anyone else other than practice. Invest in better ink if you want long term quality for actual tatting. I’m the kind of person that doesn’t like to go back and fix mistakes. I prefer it is done right the first time. So it’s up to you if you wanna FAFO with practice ink. 4. The skin is pretty thin. Don’t go practicing on it on a wooden surface. I recommend getting a green cutting mat to work on as a barrier and also getting some thicker skin to practice on. I practiced for a good hour to get the feel of the gun and it went right through the skin and tatted my cutting mat. Mat didn’t tear or rip the ink just went through. So if you like your desk, table or what ever you’re practicing on keep that in mind. Hope this helps. I give this 5 stars and recommend. Just be smart about it.

You get what you pay for. It’s a great way to get into tattooing for small price but DO NOT use that ink one someone’s skin. When you buy better ink, you’ll see the difference is big. The fake skin it comes with is horrible quality also. But PROS: good way to start and needle cartridges are good but CONS: you will want a better gun in a month. I noticed doing a tattoo after a month of having this machine that the needle was vibrating horizontally and hitting the plastic cartridge at different adjustments of needle depth. I just replaced with the Dragonhawk L3 and I am so impressed with the L3 and see now what a waste it was to buy this one originally. This one does the job but the vibration is so much more than a machine only $100 more. The only thing good about the money I wasted on this one is the power supply and foot pedal can be used with the Dragonhawk L3 if you like that sort of thing. Anyways - spend a little more. It’s worth it.

Really good for practise. I didnt use on real skin. Only on pig skin. I bought a wireless Mast one for real skin, with some decent ink. Reddit forums advise not to use the included ink on skin, but some reviews seem to have used and been ok.
