I've had the meross smart plugs for years, and liked the app so thought I'd give the bulbs a try when I moved to a new house with a suboptimal light switch set up. I've used 1 bulb in a hallway for about 7 months - worked perfectly and as I already knew and liked the app, was easy to set up and create routines. Recently, my car was targeted by an opportunistic burglar so I finally got around to putting in the second bulb in an outdoor porch light. I am so glad I finally did - I have the ability to lower the brightness during the night so it's not a nuisance but also time it so it only comes up at sunset and off at sunrise. No issues with connectivity, noise or controls. Perfect.

I bought these smart light bulbs last December, but recently, they’ve been malfunctioning despite multiple resets. Since the product is under a two-year warranty, I reached out to [email protected] for troubleshooting assistance. To my surprise, I received incredibly helpful and informative support from Jamie, a customer agent. Jamie promptly responded to my queries and provided valuable guidance. I’ve been using this product for years now, and it remains my top choice for smart light bulbs. Its performance and easy navigation are unmatched.

I'm pleased with the bulbs. Setup was not seamless, but relatively pain free. I had to go through the process a few times varying whether I connected my device to the bulb via WiFi in the device wifi settings or the meross app setup wizard. For the second bulb I had the same issue from the other way round. Only took ten minutes. I already have meross plugs connected to Alexa and so once set up in the meross app the bulbs were then added automatically to the Alexa app. Voice commands to Alexa can control whether you want white, warm white, cool white, etc or you can choose a limited set of colours (some don't seem to work via alexa for me like "salmon"). The brightness can also be controlled by saying "brighter" or "dimmer" or "brightness 70" (%) etc. More than enough control for my use case. Some of the colours activated from Alexa leave a lot to be desired... yellow and gold have a greenish tint unfortunately... but the reds and blues are fine... there's enough there for interest. Part of the problem is that some words are linked poorly to the actual LED combinations that produce the colour; there's more control in the meross app using the colour slider but the yellows are still greenish and the colour slider doesn't quite match the colour produced. Most importantly I use an occasional hotspot for my WiFi so I needed the bulbs to function independently of WiFi connection. Once set to a preferred colour and brightness the bulbs retain this. So the bulbs can be turned on and off via a wall switch in the absence of a WiFi connection and maintain the preferred colour/brightness setting. I have no idea about the longevity as only just set them up. I'm pleased with them and they fulfill their required role but one star dropped due to the colour setting idiosyncrasies and also the initial setup seeming to require one to spin widdershins thricely before success.

Easy of use, durable is good , vale for money however I got it the sticker looked like a toddler stuck it on and the connection looks sloppy

Doesn’t seem to work very well with Apple’s adaptive lighting feature. It seems to ‘forget’ to change colour. Manual adjustments work fine though. This is my first foray into smart lighting so I wasn’t sure what to expect. I won’t be buying any more from this brand.

Really good! Works with Apple HomePods, and have a good range of colours and brightness. Easy to set up, and works reliably as part of a home automation set up for extra security when you are away.

Update: Connectivity issues constantly re-occurring. Reached out to customer support who’ve tried to provide a workaround. The new version bulbs don’t seem to be as reliable as the previous iteration. I’ve decided to move over to Tapo bulbs now. Offers better energy saving, higher lumens and matter/homekit compatibility and slightly cheaper too. App is way more user friendly too. It’s a shame but this product was great in the past. On my second bulb. The first one lasted near 5 years till the bulb gave out and I bought it again because it’s the best value HomeKit bulb. Fitting it is very simple like every other lightbulb you own, either screw or plug. Connectivity is so simple to do and follow, if you’re in the UK, unless you’ve upgraded your router to 5ghz only, this bulb will work with every and any routers you can think of. The control you have with lightings are endless, first advanced controls with the Meross app and second with HomeKit, which has basic controls. As for noise levels, zero sound, some bulbs will emit a buzzing. I suffer from tinnitus and I can’t hear any irritating sounds from this apart from my own ears ringing. I also recently purchased their sensor which works flawlessly for temperature and humidity control but that’s another product.

Product is great, I have many Meross products in my smart home, originally with Alexa but I moved over to Apple home. Products worked great with both. Good brightness, colour range, and immediate response. I had an issue with one bulb recently, and Meross were quick to reply and helped by exchanging with no quibbles. Great service in my opinion.
