Toshiba MG12GQN-SS Toaster Oven, Stainless Steel

Five stars but with reservations...please read my additions to my original review. This is exactly what I wanted. I wanted a small toaster oven to replace an old Black and Decker. This product is described as a toaster /oven, but it is really a "Toaster" with some oven features, I have used it to toast bread, English muffins and rolls. I have used it to grill an open faced cheese sandwich. I do not intend to use it to cook meat or pork or anything that would require a heavy duty product.. One does have to be careful because it gets very hot, but the best feature is that the tray slides out, so you don't have to reach in and get a burn on the top of your hand. The size and styling are perfect for an apartment kitchen and I think that the styling in sleek. AMENDED COMMENTS The grill tray is made of a tin and impossible to clean. I made a little grilled cheese and the cheese overflowed and I am soaking it and using a scouringpad and the cheese just sticks. Line the tray with foil. Also...you can't turn the machine off.. Once you set the times for anything...toast or grill, you cannot turn it OFF You have to let it run its course. Maybe someone else has figured out how to turn it off and will send me an e-mail. But I have tried. I am still happy with the toaster...but there are issues.

I had read most of the previous reviews before selecting this product. The control knobs are analog, but simple and logical to use. The timer and temperature control are quite user friendly, and the large glass front allows an excellent view of the interior during the cooking process. It is also easy to clean. I would have preferred a better latch for the bottom door, but it works, and is easy to use. Overall, we are very pleased with this product and consider it to be an excellent value.

It seems to be a good toaster oven. A little more dials than what I need, but it works. The only thing I don't like is my old toaster oven had a sort of stopper so that the hot pan did not roll out onto my hand, this does not and the pan comes flying out. With HOT food.

A toaster should make great toast and this does a great job of doing just that! Although the toast can look slightly uneven, it is really nicely crisp on the outside but not hard like some other toasters. Add butter and its a pleasure to bite into it! It looks very stylish, love the stay cool handle and the bottom tray is easily removed to clean out the residual crumbs. (Some other reviewer say its a problem, I don't agree) It really compliments my kitchen and I am very pleased with it.

Money is tight so I decided to give this a try,, what a mistake!! Dislike everything! Hard to clean, impossible to make a good piece of toast. Baking is hit or miss, either a burnt top or bottom! I haven't tried the other features and have no intention of doing so! Spend a little more and get some quality!

so far, so good...I have made toast and reheated pizza in it...and it seems to work fine.. the knobs were fine for me, and it .does have a smaller footprint on the counter.

I purchased this wanting a stainless steel finish toaster oven, but upon receipt noticed that only the front was stainless and the sides and top were painted black. Since that didn't go with my kitchen I returned it. Too bad, otherwise it was very nice. The finish was nicer than some chromed metal options I saw in stores. The controls also had a very nice finish giving it a high end appearance. The device that pulls out the tray when the door opens is flimsy and only opens in one of the two shelf settings, but I could have lived with that.
