I've bumped these up from four stars to five—my initial review would have been 9 on a scale of 10. My original difficulty with them is that I have a wide foot, and they don't come in half sizes. I went up to the next size and they were still very, very snug and difficult to get on at first. They slowly loosened up. I'm now a bit more than two months into them, and they've loosened up and they are very comfortable. They are not rugged hiking boots, but they're certainly good for walking around in the winter. This is really interesting footwear; I’ve, personally, never bought/worn anything like them. I’d been looking for something casual and lightweight but warm and waterproof for the winter (we get rain and snow where I live). These fit that bill and they look great. I live in a hilly area and take a long walk daily, and, at first, I did, find these a bit difficult to walk in. The sizing is correct for me (there’s room in the toes) but I have a wide foot and they felt snug around the part of my foot that’s just below my toes, and also my toes felt a little cramped widthwise (but not lengthwise). A larger size wouldn’t have made any difference in the width. As mentioned at the beginning—they did eventually break in and loosen up. Also, they really have no arch, and I need an additional arch in my footwear. So I have added an insole (which had made these even more snug). The fur lining is very warm—it seems best to wear thinner socks with these. I’d tried to get my feet in, wearing thick socks, and that was a struggle—kind of fur against fur. Thinner socks work better and that may be all you need with these. And, finally, the boot loop in the back is very small—I cannot get any of my fingers in the loop to help with putting on the boots. (And I don’t have large fingers.) Finally, they don’t provide a lot of support—if that's something you need. They feel like light sneakers in their construction (though they do keep cold and water out so far). And, for instance, if you get a pebble in the sole, you will feel it. So I’ve pointed out some downsides but, overall, I like these. A nice idea and stylish. They are not heavy winter boots or hiking boots, but then again, they’re not described as such. I think what they are is reflected in the price, and I think they are priced very well. They seem good to go to the office, shopping, visiting friends perhaps, etc. I actually preferred the blue—I think those are very cool—but I ordered black because it goes with everything, and again, to my taste, these are sharp-looking. (Some of the photos make these look blue—that is my phone cam and the lighting.) As you can tell, I can be particular when reviewing clothing. I have gotten a lot of use out of these this winter. (I received them around Thanksgiving and it's now February.) I wear them almost daily and like them.
