It’s a fast and portable flash drive
Simply put it is fast, small and portable and seems to work well with my ps5 and m1 MacBook Pro after I set it up. The included Mac app likely isn’t compatible with apple silicon or modern macOS versions as far as I could tell and that’s not an issue if you know how to format a drive. On current macOS that can be done with opening the Apple Disk Utility app with the flash drive connected. It will show up on the left but it will be reporting only 8Gb. For some very strange reasons OWC thought that using a custom app to setup the drive as a mandatory step to ensure a good setup. That’s ok macOS disk utility can fix it by showing all volumes under the view menu in the top menu bar. Then you can select the main drive in the left and erase it as exfat. After that the full capacity of the drive is made available in my case 1TB Note: this will erase anything already stored on the drive so proceed with your own caution. After that the drive has been fast and performant for transferring video captures to my Mac from my ps5. Hope this helps and I just to say it is a nice drive with a decent 3 year warranty and I think they could have made its setup easier but it’s not too hard to fix.

Works Great On Macs
I have always been happy with the quality of OWC products and this is the same. Its a durable build and it’s nice having both USB A and USB C in one device. I read other reviews about not getting full capacity but that is from users that did not do a full format on the drive. There is no need to install or use anything shipped on the drive and I always do a full format on new external drives which I did the same with this one and it immediately gave me the full 1 TB advertised capacity. It gives me the convenience of a thumb drive with the capacity and speed of a SSD, a good purchase overall.

Light weight and feels sturdy
I docked a star for the initial setup process. Yes, there's a setup for a USB storage drive. I ordered the 500GB and when I inserted it into my computer, it was showing as a single 8GB drive with a .exe setup. This is completely unnecessary as it can be pre-formatted as NTFS to the correct size. This should allow Windows users to automatically start using it without launching a sketchy .exe program from an unknown company that is not digitally signed (when I checked it), Mac users should have an easy way to modify to whatever format is needed, and Linux users should be able to plug and play. Instead of launching the setup, I used a disk manager in Linux, deleted each partition on the drive, resized to a single partition, then formated to NTFS (I need to be able to use this on Windows and Linux) The quality feels very sturdy and the pullout of the USB is fairly smooth. The USB C side is protected by a rubber seal that covers the whole port and will not open on its own. Time will tell how well this all will hold up. So far I am pretty satisfied with it.

If you want an actual high speed portable drive, this is the one to pick.
This one is expensive for the capacity. But it works at speeds that compare to external SSDs It's well worth the cost if you think you might need to actually fill it up in a hurry. This one was a huge help when windows updates caused a complete inability to boot on a PC and I had to boot up a copy of Linux then copy all the data off it (because of course being windows it's quicker just to re-install from scratch than fix the mess the updates can make). It was recognized by an older version of Linux just fine and I was able to copy things quickly and get the system back up and running. If you are an IT professional, I'd highly recommend you have one of these in your pocket.

Not usable for big files copy
Good's: 1. Capacity is awesome 2. interwork on macOS devices just fine Bads: 1. When trying to copy ~1GB+ file(s) from macOS to Win 10 - it just says USB drive not recognized (exFAT) 2. Interestingly is that at the beginning it show correct file(s) / size. But, while copying it show "not recognized" and fails. 3. Tried to find driver for Win 10, but no luck :(

Fast and well constructed
This drive is great. Worked right out of the box to backup two MacBook Pro's (both Intel). Faster than standard flash drives I have, and high storage capacity. I don't use the USB-A connector, but it is nice to have both, and the form factor is cool. I did have a problem with the included offer for Acronis software, the license key was missing. Customer service was great! Contacted them via chat at 2am, they investigated and got back to me by the time I reconnected the next day with a solution, and I had the license. In the end, turns out I had tossed the license in the trash!

The perfect flash drive for someone in IT. Matches great with Apple products and using encryption
I had been looking for a professional grade flash drive for use with work and consulting. Alot of times you need a flash drive but either need lost it, not the right connector, or need an encrypted drive. This one can do it all and looks great as well. I was able to partition the drive so I can have 250GB exFAT flash, 250GB encrypted NTFS with BitLocker, and 500GB drive encrypted with APFS FileVault. Very versatile and can definitely take a drop or two. I like the lanyard that came in with it and loop built on the drive to hang it from. It was a bit pricey, but well worth it. Here's to the last flash drive I ever have to buy.

Very stylish one terabyte USBCHDD with USB facilities when you flip it over but the USB-C connector could be a little bit longer as it is a bugger using it when the phone is in a case
