These cartridges write smooth and clean with no skipping. They snap in easy, no mess, no guessing. The black ink is consistent and dries fast enough not to smear. If you use a Cross pen and want cartridges that just work, these do exactly that.

I have a Cross pen i received as a gift a few years ago. I use it as my primary note taking pen (with a Moleskine notebook) at work. When I started keeping a bullet journal, it became my primary writing device (besides colorful markers). I use this pen every day, for both my personal notes and for note-taking in meetings at work. When the ink ran out in my Cross pen, i found these replacements on Amazon, at what seemed a good price. They fit the pen perfectly, are easy to insert, and have a writing feel i really like (not scratchy at all - but also not so liquid that they bleed everywhere). I give them four, rather than five stars for two reasons. 1) I think the cartridges could last a bit longer than they do. I still find they are a decent value because they enable me to continue to use a pen I really like, but i feel like they should last a bit longer (seems like I get about 6 months out one). I don't know, maybe that's good for a pen I use literally every day. 2) they do blotch a little bit. I can generally roll the pen tip on scratch paper to get rid of extra gunk when the pen gets blotchy, but it does happen. All in all - if you're looking for Cross pen refills - don't hesitate on buying these. Caveat - I am by no means a pen connoisseur. I just like the feel of my Cross pen and am happy to have found a good way to keep it freely writing for me.

Excellent ink cartridges at a great price

Cross should bring back American manufacturing or get a 3rd party to make these. I don't know if this is why but they arrived dried out and scratchy barely writing and they are made by A.T. Cross, in China; says so on the blister packet. Horrible experience and way over priced for this type of poor quality. What happened to Cross? They used to be a really pristine writing tool with refills that wrote like butter, smooth and rich. Got a Classic Century for graduation in 1981 and it was the best writing pen I ever owned bar none. Free pens at the doctors office made of plastic they give away write better than this did.
