Easy job, I recommend

I was left scratching my head with the contents of this kit. Assembling the Male/Plug Connector is simple enough and once connected, the Pre-Crimped Cable connections are sound and true. HOWEVER, you cannot carry out the same assembly process on the FEMALE/Socket. The reason being that the Sockets are designed to be inserted into a circuit board. Maybe I was naive but I was expecting that this kit would allow me to neatly insert cables into both the Plug and the Socket. You can push the pre-crimped cables onto each pin on the socket but you will need to add a spot of solder to each pin to secure it and then use the heat shrink tubing to protect each connection but the connections are NOT inside the socket. Maybe, that is what you are supposed to do but in no way does the socket look as neat and professional as the plug It really is a shame, because otherwise, this is a very handy kit and to be fair, if you only need PCB Sockets, you’re good to go!

Excellent delivery service

The kit is well made kit with top quality materials. The components are specifically designed for interconnecting different PCBs (Printed Circuit Boards) using 0.1" pin pitch (2.54mm) connectors. It is important for potential customers to understand what they are getting into (see below). The male should be soldered onto the PCB. Two PCB's can be interconnected by a ribbon cable terminated with two female connectors. In this case you would need the crimping tool to crimp the cable and female connectors. This is not desirable for a hobbyist like me. The kit uses individual wires with crimped female pins as a solution which is a perfect solution for me. The #22 wire is stranded with 40 individual wires which is rare (I have not come across affordable wires as a hobbyist). Solderability is excellent which is important to me. The wires were sometimes shorter than I needed so I had to solder/bridge them with heat shrink tubing to protect the junctions. I just completed a preamp with an IR remote volume control kit with this. Extremely happy with the connector kit.
