this is over-all okish product i would say, the default blade can sometimes harm you as the corners are sharp and I would say they should improve that thing also please ensure if you're buying first time, you don't fall for grooming kit, I've barely used anything other than default one and mm ones for beard even for pubic hairs you don't need other ones as they just don't work at all, most of the time they're rough or kinda not production level quality i would say default one and those mm one does everything most of the time just remember to clean them with alcohol swabs. also regarding battery and water proofing I've washed the top part several times and there's absolutely no issues so far and battery lasts for like two months if you use every 3-6 days

most people complain about it's button related issues, now I'm telling what's the main culprit behind it, it's WATER DAMAGE. sorry to say it's not fully water resistance. however Xiaomi claims water resistance of IPX7 but still somehow water will enter, there are many ways,that button portion is one of them. also there's a hole at bottom, i don't know what's purpose of it. if you search on YouTube HOW TO REPAIR MI TRIMMER 2 most videos tell you it's water damage and water has entered to PCB. SO PLEASE STOP WASHING IN WATER, and why you need to wash in water, it's just your own few hairs that you can easily brush it, you can use painting brush that will be more easy. and do the same with clipping blade. also water can washout those lubricant from clipping blade which lead to excessive sound, vibration, heat and also corrosion. if you want a trimmer in long run then stay away from a single drop of water. just brush it. but must wash those combs and if necessary then you can wash clipper blade only, make sure wipe with dry cloth and place it on well ventilated area so that water dries off completely. Don't get always fooled by company's advertisement and use your big brain to figure out right decision. And please don't use any type of oils (hair oil, body oil, engine oil, coconut oil etc etc) . its highly recommended to use only trimmer oil. Atleast use sewing machine oil, it's cheap and effective. I had read an review feedback, that person saying he used to well maintain his trimmer and regularly oil it but still trimmer stopped working. applying any kind of lubricating oil might seem performance enhancement in short term but in long term it will pay much bigger. for example if you apply new engine oil it may looks good but the heat of clipper start burning and breakdown engine oil, eventually make more friction,heat, battery drain. same with olive oil or synthetic hair oil. MUST OIL YOUR CLIPPER AFTER SINGLE USE. you can use body groomer (shaver) on beard to get true 0 mm length. first trim at 0.5 mm then apply groomer at the opposite direction of hair growth the charging cable quality is pretty good, and it's only for charging (you can't use it like data cable) it charges so quickly, even using very old 0.5/1 A charger. using it for cutting beard and head hair, still not found any issue of over months usages. those who are washing their trimmer, after few months will complain " kya bakwaas trimmer hay, chalta hi nhi"

1) Its great to have a trimmer which can be used in both corded and cordless modes. I have thrown 2 trimmers because of their dead batteries. They cannot be used while being charged. After few years their batteries lose their holding capacity and they take 20 mins of charging for 3 mins backup. 2) it has good quality battery which gives superb backup. I don't think I'll need to charge it before 4 months!! 3) the problem is it's blades aren't as good as philips or remington ones in used to. The main blade has already started showing signs of wear and is unable to give a trim it used to. This is only after 2 months of usage. I wash the blades after every use and apply machine oil before stowage. (I know how to keep machinery working) 4) the attachments are difficult to fit and if not fitted properly, they tend to come off during usage. Again needs more refinement as compared to philips.

I purchased this Mi Trimmer two years ago and used it regularly. For the first year, it performed decently. However, after that, the main blade began to fail despite regular cleaning, oiling, and very careful usage. I even maintained it with a high level of care, trimming only clean and dry hair. When the main blade finally became unusable, I approached multiple service centers. Shockingly, even though all other parts were in good condition, they outright refused to replace the main blade because the product was just out of warranty. No support, no paid replacement option—nothing. The only “solution” they offered was to buy a new trimmer. That’s not customer service—it’s forced obsolescence. To make matters worse, the blade sharpness had already started deteriorating just a few months into use, well before the actual failure. The so-called “zero shave” attachment is also difficult to use and often causes discomfort. Ease of cleaning and general handling were acceptable, but what’s the point if the core functionality and support are this poor? Bottom line: If you’re expecting long-term reliability or any kind of post-purchase support, look elsewhere. This was a complete waste of money. MI really needs to rethink both its blade quality and customer service policies.
