This is a review for the product as well as the seller, both of which are excellent. The Product: Recently had to replace the packing on all four cylinders of a Bobcat A300. The rod seal for the first cylinder was a major PITA. Took probably 30 minutes of fighting with it and very sore fingers to get it in. By this time I wasn’t even sure the seal was still good (it was) as I had abused it so much getting it into place. Figured there had to be a better way and Googled it… up comes this kit. Bought the kit figuring if it saved me even half the aggravation for the other three cylinders that it would be worth it. All three took less than 10 seconds each with this tool, with no damage to the seal whatsoever. I used the yellow tool, and did have to “kidney bean shape” the seal a lot to get them, but once they were in place on the tool, it was a simple matter to place them into the cylinder end, unwind them, and withdraw the tool. I finished by using my finger to ‘pop’ the last little bit of seal in place. I would NEVER do a cylinder repack again without this tool, and would happily buy another if I ever lose or break this one. The tools seem sturdy, so I doubt with my use that I will ever break them. The rods are nicely plated with rubber coated handles, and the body of the tool is a very hard plastic. The Seller: My kit arrived missing the smallest tool (the blue one). Not a big deal at this moment as I needed the yellow one for the Bobcat, but I have an older log splitter that will use the smaller tool when it needs to be repacked. The seller reached out to me to be sure I was satisfied before I ever opened the box. When I did, I replied that I was missing a tool and asked if they could just forward that one on without returning the whole kit. He responded within hours (on a Sunday!) and said he would have a tool in the mail as soon as I passed along my address. I did, and received a new blue tool in a few days. Many thanks to the seller (Kit King) for quick and honest communication. Wish all online businesses were as straightforward to deal with. Bottom line: If you have even one small-to-medium sized cylinder to repack, and don’t want to invent a bunch of new inappropriate language to scream while you’re putting the rod seal in, this little tool kit is money very well spent.
