Vgate iCar Pro Bluetooth 3.0 OBD2 Scanner | Android Only – Not for iOS – Check Engine Light

I needed a Bluetooth OBD2 Adapter to let me run diagnostics, Scan Trouble Codes, Clear them, and Turn Off the Check Engine Light on my 2015 Heavy Duty Diesel pickup truck. The code revealed the Particulate Filter was getting clogged with soot, so bad that it went into Limp Mode, (Reduced Engine Power), which prevented it from entering the Regen mode to clear the filter. I found an App that lets you run a Service Regen, but it required Bi-Directional communication. Many other units claim to support this, I tried 3 others, none of them worked. This little jewel arrived, and performed perfectly! I was able to monitor live data on about 60 parameters, and run the Service Regen, I am SO HAPPY to have my truck running like new! Saved me a $300 bill at the dealership, to do what I was able to in my driveway with a few taps on my phone! THANK YOU!!! I Highly Recommend this one!

I had bought the Wsiiroon OBDII device, and after that arrived DOA, settled on this Vgate. Bliss! Worked right out of the box, its three telltale LEDs (power, transmission, Bluetooth handshake) are useful, the power LED reminds me to take the thing out when I park - my old OBDII dongle had no telltales, and like my ex-wife, will only talk to me intermittently now, and these dongles do consume power while plugged in, continuously, as the OBDII port is always powered - and being able to see it has handshaked with the handset is nice. I use it with my existing full CaroO Pro Android monitoring / dashcam application, so haven't tested it with anything else, using my older Galaxy, which is dedicated to the car. Good buy.

I ordered this and received an empty box. Reported this to Amazon and received a replacement in two days. I use Torque on a Samsung phone, and this works well.

I had another OBDII Bluetooth wireless scan tool that I purchased in 2016 for reading codes and reset the check engine light on a 2002 Honda CR-V. As we speak the adapter still works with the Honda. However, I also have a 2003 GMC Savana van that recently started displaying the check engine light. The OBDII from 2016 used with the Honda would NOT communicate with the GMC Savana ECU. I use the Torque app with a Samsung Galaxy S21 Android cell phone to communicate with both vehicles. After confirming the adapter was paired with my cell phone, I changed the app settings from automatic detection and tried every protocol listed in the Torque app with NO success in connecting to the Savana ECU. Upon looking at several new adapters here on Amazon, I decided to try this Vgate iCar Pro Bluetooth 3.0 OBD2 adapter, since it was described to work with the Torque app and Android cell phones. Setting the Torque app protocol back to automatically detect the correct protocol, the adapter instantly connected to the ECU and I was able read the fault code and extinguish the check engine light. I have NOT yet tried to connect this Vgate adapter to the Honda CR-V, but feel confident it will work. I also like the LED indicator lights on the back of the adapter rather than the side so you can see them while connected. Therefore, I highly recommend this adapter based on my experience!!

I like the size and all functions work like the more expensive brands. I purchased it to use it with AlphaOBD, everything I tried worked on a my dodge charger and grand Caravan, including programing fob keys. Update after return windows is closed. I really liked the device for the first month (first 30 days only), but I used only a few times and always worked as expected for everything that I had tried as reading parameters, changing my car's configuration and even programing additional key fobs. However, 33 after receiving the product I wanted to use it again to read my car's parameters and it does not connect anymore. Both in android and windows all softwares and apps that I tried cannot stablish communication with the device. They find the device but nothing more than find it, even the apps they recommend to test the device.

This worked with my 2012 wrangler running jscan on a Samsung s22 plus. The veepeak didn't work for me with this setup. I was able to turnoff my tpms system and get valuable information on my airbag light that turned into a $0 easy fix. No more warning lights on in my jeep is a huge win. Ive been battling with it for months.

My other OBDII scanner came up MIA, so I ordered this one. Small size. Connected to my phone easily. Works with the Torque app.

Plugged it into my Supra and just had to link it to my phones Bluetooth enter the pin and all that was left to do is open bimmercode and almost everything was there. Missing some setting but I don't know if it's because I need to update the adapter or if I just need a better one. Hopefully it's the first one. Even cleared some error codes that I had from switching my steering wheel so at the end of the day it works.(bimmercode is not free. It's $50 but has everything that you need and is super easy to use)
