Cat Mate Stainless Steel Bowl Inserts - Replacement Bowls for 5-Meal C500 Automatic Pet Feeder (Pack of 5)

This product comes with a new tray (slightly different than the OEM) and 5 stainless steel inserts. I only use 1 slot daily and up to 3 at a time so this has reduced cleanup efforts, being able to clean the individual inserts and replace daily. Also much more convenient to fit in a dishwasher. I will be buying another set!

This is almost a necessary upgrade for the basic feeder. Cleaning and filling individual bowls is much more effective than the included single piece plastic carousel. But leaving this as an upgrade choice reduces the initial cost of the feeder, and makes it less of a gamble to to see whether it works for your cat.

Five Stainless inserts in plastic carrier work well as replacement for the included grey tray. (I wanted a 2nd tray, but may replace the original tray as concerned that it be made of forever chemicals, as it is 'nonstick'.) Ironically the white carrier tray is plastic, not stainless.

Love this thing, way easier to manage than the big plastic one. Can pop the dirty ones in the dishwasher right away rather than leaving the dirty plastic tray in for a day or two.

Bought the "stainless steel inserts" to go with the Cate Mate automatic feeder. For me, these were a big upgrade over the default plastic tray (and a good reason to buy the Cat Mate over other feeders that don't offer such trays!). There is a plastic tray base and 5 stainless steel bowls that fit into it. The stainless steel bowls fit easily in the top rack of the dishwasher (unlike the huge plastic tray) and because they can be taken out individually, you can even wash just a few at a time as they get dirty. Very convenient. Only been using a week so can't speak to longevity, but appear to be good quality. Overall, very happy!

We love these. I just wish we could buy more steel bowl inserts without buying a whole new plastic holder with them. The plastic holder stays clean, so it would be nice to have more steel inserts to just swap them out while I put the used ones in the dishwasher.

This product I use for wet food. I needed the removable individual feeding slots because 2 I freeze and 2 get refrigerated before I set up my cats 24 hour feeding schedule. I also love the fact that it is steel and not plastic. I also love the company listening to customer suggestions and implementing it. However the feeder was $60, 2 sets of metal trays (1 for feeding, 1 for freezing/refrigerating) is $80, and spare ice packs are $20 a set. In the long run it is worth the investment because my cat wants to take small nibbles all day which I couldn’t keep up with and wakes me up in the middle of the night to eat. However the cost of metal trays is disappointing.

Great product. The metal dishes get colder than the plastic tray with the ice packs underneath and can be washed in the dishwasher every day. Worth the money.

I love the cat feeder and needed a 2nd tray. This tray is well constructed, and is easy to clean. I thought it was entirely stainless steel, but only the tray inserts are stainless. I suppose it makes them easier to wash that way, but it was a little misleading from the photo. The stainless steel food trays fit inside a plastic tray, which sits in the feeder. It's nice having a 2nd tray for the feeder, though. Four stars and not five, because of the misleading photo. I've added more photos so you can see what actually comes in the box.

We've had the auto feeder for years now. Decided to up grade and replace the plastic feeder Bowel to the stainless steel. Excellent and can clean individual bowls.

This Cat Mate feeder with stainless steel inserts is fantastic. The added inserts make it so much easier, cleaner, and healthier for my kitty. :) I love the feeder itself, as it makes it so much easier to make sure my cat has wet food through the night or while I’m away. It functions well and I love that you can set 4 separate timers. The original tray the feeder comes with is one solid plastic pieces that rotates, so you have to remove the entire thing to wash it after each day. With this stainless steel option, each little feeding section can be individually placed, meaning I only use what I need and they can be taken out and washed individually - LOVE that. I also love that the stainless steel is a healthier option, is easy to clean, and is durable/long lasting. The compartments are a good size. They are a little deep for kitty whiskers (shallow dishes are better for feeding), but she doesn’t seem to mind too much and I don’t use it for every meal. They keep the food nice and cold. I actually think these inserts keep it colder than the original plastic because of the stainless steel and the design underneath with slots. The feeder is battery operated, but doesn’t have a battery indicator so you just have to keep that in mind, especially if you are going away. The price seems quite high but comparatively for the entire set up including these stainless steel inserts, it is on point with other systems and this is the best one I’ve found so far. Highly recommend the feeder and these inserts; they make life SO much easier, are durable and well-made, and keep food cold. The feeder isn’t flawless, but gets five stars for making mine and my kitty’s life so much easier. :)
