Is this st4000vnz06 the same as st4000vn006 as cannot find any information on z06? the z06 is not included in synology's compatability listings.

I briefly checked the internet for information on this, as I assume you did, and didn't find any. I suspect that the listed "technical details" are just wrong though; the capacity and speed certainly aren't right. The drive I bought from this listing in December is a "ST4000VN006-3CW104" according to SMART. 4TB IronWolf drives used to be have the model number ST4000VN008 and were slightly different (5900RPM, smaller cache, apparently slightly worse speed), so it's possible that someone got confused when they were replaced.

Is this a con? £179.99 on the list and then £249.99 when you are taken to the page. How come Amazon?

I've just had similar, on the search page it was listed as £30 less than the actual item page. I double-checked various sizes, refreshed the cache - but it continued to happen. My guess is the Amazon cache is not quite up to date and thus reflects inaccurate data (in this case, price).

Is this product what I need to store movies and access them on demand, if not pls can you techie people help me know what I need?

Forgive me if I misunderstand. The device is a component hard drive which typically needs a host device to talk to. This can be a computer or an interface of some kind. Either way, the drive requires installing or integrating into a system or enclosure.
