Bought it for my own cat for nail trims. It is an ideal muzzle for cats at my vet clinic. It's great because it doesn't restrict their breathing and allows them to see just enough that they don't completeky freak out. It doesnt come off as easily if they try to paw at it 😁 pricey for a muzzle but i think it's a good investment.

When I saw my vet pull out this muzzle for my highly anxious cat, I was a bit taken aback. Yes, it does look like a little kitty BDSM device, but it makes more sense when you get into the practicalities of what these are supposed to do: provide a way of restraining the cat from biting and limiting visuals so important tasks like trimming claws can be done without injury. The firm shape ensures that airflow is not restricted. I read reviews of the cloth versions and they accomplished only the purpose of limiting vision, but did not prevent the cat from biting the owner. Getting it on took a little bit of figuring out. Because no cat is going to be enthralled with being muzzled, they will try to shake it off. Getting the size adjuster close to the right size before putting it on the cat will save you trouble. The cat will try to shake off the muzzle and if you need to take a hand away to adjust the size, the cat will throw it off. By having the size close, I can adjust with one hand without much difficulty. Happy trimming!

Perfect size for my adult cats. Design is more effective compared to the soft fabric, can’t even compare! Definitely money well spent, I was able to trim nails, shave and bathe my long hair cats! Typically I’d struggle keeping the muzzle on while being concerned about breathing. This hard muzzle provides excellent breathing. My amazon package also got ran over …. So it’s durable for sure. Replaced the draw strings to the very back holes, my cats head needed it that way.

I bought this not knowing that the description wasn't accurate. The "standard" size offered is a medium according to the actual brand, and is too small for what I needed it for. Buyer beware, this item is overpriced and not returnable.

I have an older and MEAN but beautiful calico cat with HUGE, THICK nails!! She was at the vet the last time as a nail actually grew into her pad and was like a huge screw. :-( The vet got out the nail, and we had to apply antiseptic for a week. I went through over SIX types of biting restraints before I found this one. She needed the LARGE. It went on easily and thankfully was easy to put in place and to release as I have arthritis in my hands. I did have to hold her down between my knees while my husband clipped her THICK NAILS!! BUT IT WORKED! I also bought CAT nail clippers which I will also review!! I guess she forgave me as I did all the nails and then gave her cat treats!!! THANK YOU FOR CARRYING THIS!!!!

Honestly works great my cat seems to like it. Typically just sits still in my lap. However I would like to add my kitten is 5 months old. He doesn’t mind baths he’ll meow at most. He doesn’t mind me clipping his nails he may squirm a little. And he doesn’t mind getting his teeth brushed because he eats the toothpaste. He’s strange and very calm for a kitten. He also doesn’t bite anytime he’s uncomfortable he’ll lick me. So what may work for my cat may not be the same for yours so please be mindful.

I got the standard which was the smallest available. I think they make a small but Amazon did not carry it. I tried it on him when I first got it, and it seemed ok. He had his nails cut at the vet, so I did not need to use it right away. So when I went to use it recently - It is really too big for my cat, but I missed the return window. I will try to see if I can make it smaller. Otherwise it is nice and sturdy and I like that it is a USA company

Nice idea. I watched videos and practiced with it. The plastic piece keeps you from tightening easily and if the cat shakes its head it flies right off. I returned it. Too bad because it looks like it should work
