Great Quality Prints, Portable Size!
Printer packaged with charger cable, printer tray, and sampler sheet and cartridge. The size of the printer is very portable, even with the tray attached, the footprint size is small. The build quality is good, feels sturdy, and not flimsy at all. The printer has multiple ways of access: PC, mobile app, SD card, and through wifi. The LCD display on the printer is bright and legible. The direction pads and buttons are easy enough to use, and all the functions are straightforward to use. I tested the PC connection and mobile app, and there were easy to use without any difficulties. Printing was quick, taking about a minute per print, and the noise level was not overly loud or distracting. Print quality is pretty good! I tested both dark and light pictures, the dark picture does come out a bit darker than the reference, but all details were there and can be detected. Light pictures turn out good and fine. The printer paper and cartridge come in a set, the cartridge is proprietary, which can be concerning if this ever goes out of stock or discontinued. The advantage of this style is you take out the guesswork of how many prints you can do, the cartridge has enough to print on the available photo paper. I would have love to have the portable battery included, but this was easy to find and purchase separately. Overall, this is a great portable photo printer that prints great photo lab quality prints.

Easy to Use, Good quality Portable Photo Printer
I was really pleasantly surprised with this portable photo printer. Pro: Practically plug and play. Setup is easy and connected to my iPhone on the first try. If you plan to print directly from your iPhone, download the SELPHY app for easy photo layout. The app is also very easy to use and makes layouts for photos easy to setup. Easy to upload photos from phone to app and to print. Prints individual photos very quickly as well. Since this is not an inkjet, you can touch the output immediately without smearing the front. Option for glossy, semi matte or matte photo finishes. There is a decent selection of cute graphics and stamps to add to your photo outputs. Con: The photo output tends to have an overexposed, washed out look for daytime photos. Nighttime or darker background photos tend to look more vibrant. The printer itself is small but surprisingly heavy (solidly built). Frankly, for the price. I’m super happy with the product. If you’re looking for pro quality prints or something to display at home, still print on laserjet or inkjet printer or send it out to be printed professionally. But for a quick print and casual use. This is perfect! Love it.

Worth it; Changed how I approached my photography
I will admit that I am an amateur photographer. I ended up at a point however where all I did was post a small amount of my photos from my Panasonic LUMIX G9 edited in Lightroom and the rest were lost in a hard drive purgatory. This printer however is a game changer. It gave second life to the photos that were lost in the hard drive and gave me a reason to comb through my photos for ones that I felt were worth printing. It also gave a new perspective when I took photos of how I wanted to frame them for small printing. This also was perfect for printing family photos. Now the justifications of the printer are out of the way on to the actual review of the printer. The printer is compact. I don’t have the battery pack. I use it at my desk. I would agree that it is compact and not portable. It’s small and you could bring it with you places, but the cord and the actual setup is a tad bulky and cumbersome. As far as the print results- they are great. For comparison, I have and instax mini printer. While that printer did produce cute photos I that I would give away, it was something that didn’t produce accurate colors and there was a lot of loss of detail. This printer has none of those issues. The colors seem quite accurate and it prints are of good quality.Every thing comes out clear. The app is quick and responsive on my iPhone 16. The print quality to price ratio seem just right. I love the convenience of being able to print out single photos without having to commit to sending in a bunch of photos from a site or store. This is worth purchase. Don’t hesitate on buying.

Photo Lab quality prints, just know it uses all-in-one Ink & Paper packs
If you love having physical photos but hate the hassle of ordering prints, the SELPHY is the perfect solution. The convenience is unbeatable. It's incredibly easy to set up and use, especially with the phone app connecting over WiFi. I can go from taking a picture to holding a high-quality, dry-to-the-touch print in my hand in just a minute. Its compact size is another great feature, making it easy to bring along. I've used it for both events and family gatherings The print quality is impressive, the colors are vibrant and the details are sharp, easily on par with what you'd get from a professional service. The all-in-one ink and paper cartridges are also a brilliant design, making refills clean and simple. A crucial detail to be aware of is that this is a dye-sublimation printer, which means you must use Canon's combined ink and paper packages, standard supplies will not work. This technology creates the photo in multiple passes, laying down each color individually. This is the same process used for professional photo printing and is the secret to its "lab-quality" results, which is why the ink and paper are always sold together as a matched set. To get a perfect print, you have to bring up (brighten) the shadows in your photo editing app before sending it to the printer. It’s a quick adjustment that makes a world of difference. Also, because the paper moves in and out during the printing process, it's best to use it in a clean, dust-free area to avoid any specks on your final print. The cost per print is very reasonable, especially with the bulk paper/ink packs, making it an excellent value. For anyone who wants the joy of instant, tangible memories without having to use a print service, this is a fantastic machine. Highly recommended!

Nice as printer only, accessories are useless
I have wanted a photo printer for a long time, and I love this little thing. The price was okay, until I I started buying all the accessories and then it got crazy. The prints look nice, and it is fun to watch it print by color. The setup with my phone and the app and my laptop was a pain- it took multiple attempts but I think I have it figured out now. I don't like that it is advertised to print stickers and labels and all that but needs a separate print tray to do so- which I only found out through reviews and the tray took weeks to find. The options are nice, I just wish it was a package deal. The photos are nice though. I am enjoying it. Update : I am now noticing a line down the side of the photos I print. I am also having a hard time getting the alignment right as the printer tends to crop the edges, especially if I print multiple smaller pictures on one sheet using the app. I also cannot print through the app anymore because I set it up with my laptop as well as my phone to go over our wifi, so I have to send it to print, and make sure the right printer is selected. Update 2: I have now tried using all the accessories and am very disappointed. I bought the separate paper tray for the smaller card sized label papers. The card size sticker paper worked ok ( I only used it once) but when I tried the smaller label stickers (with 8 stickers on the card size paper) it jammed in the printer. The only instruction from the printer was to turn it off and on again to clear the jam, which did not do anything. I had to manually pull the paper and folded up stickers out with tweezers which took about a half hour. The printer doesn't come apart so I just had to pull the ripped pieces out individually. Fortunately when I switched back to the standard paper it still worked. Probably best to only use the items that come with this printer and its replacements. I was excited about the sticker paper for my kid's artwork, so that is disappointing.

A very capable little photo printer
This is a surprisingly capable little printer that scratches that instant-photo itch while keeping things modern and connected. From a communications tech standpoint, I really appreciate how smooth the wireless setup is on the Canon Selphy CP1500 ... it connects easily via Wi-Fi or the app, and the interface feels a lot less clunky than some older Selphy models. Print quality is solid for its size: colors are vibrant, details are sharp enough, and the dye-sub process gives photos a nice, durable finish that resists smudges and water. It’s not going to replace a pro photo printer, but for quick 4x6 prints straight from your phone or camera, it’s awesome. The only downside is the consumable cost (the ink/paper packs aren’t cheap) but the convenience and quality make it worth it if you love having tangible prints in seconds

Great potential, but software issues stand in the way
As a standalone printer, the CP1500 is great. The print quality is very good and it is quick. It’s easy to change out the ink, ribbon and paper. I do wish that these components would be recycled with a discount to purchase more, especially since there aren’t very many on a roll, but that doesn’t impact the print quality. The prints themselves will last for years. The issue I have with this printer is that they don’t have good window support at all. If you wanna print from my phone, it works pretty well. From a memory card, great, though a little slow to dig through the images on the device. But printing from Windows is an absolute nightmare. It’s very clearly stated on this printer that you can either print wirelessly or via a cable. But they don’t tell you, is that you can never do both. You have to pick one option and stick with it forever. Initially, I set it up as a wired printer, but then I decided to go ahead and set up the wireless functionality as well. This should be easy to do. I’ve done multiple printer installs on many laptops before and it’s very straightforward. The critical failure here is that Canon will not release a driver for this printer, and Windows can’t handle installing both using the IPP class driver. In addition, their support, blames windows updates for being the culprit of all issues. Beyond that, though, I ran into another issue; I decided to just go ahead and use it over WiFi at home. However, this week I am going to a place where I’m going to do some charity work and print photos for people so I know I won’t be on Wi-Fi. For this reason, I decided to uninstall my Wi-Fi and install the corded version. Despite doing a bunch of troubleshooting, including multiple restarts, adding and deleting the device several times, etc, I now have a driver error. Window says I can’t find the driver for this printer. What does this mean? I now own a brick. The worst part about it is that I’m a new customer. I’m just over 30 days in…. Just over the return period. I reached out to Canon support twice today to try and resolve the issue and there are no ideas. I’m using only the memory card or using my phone, neither of which will work for me while shooting on a mirrorless camera. To say I’m disappointed in this product doesn’t really say enough. I watched so many videos and had so many people talking about how great this thing is. But when push comes to shove, if you are actively selling a product, saying that it works with windows, and then blaming windows, you are not advertising your product properly. Canon could easily remedy all of my issues and allow me to use this printer that I just purchased again by releasing a driver for Windows 11. When is 11 is the standard operating system right now for Windows users. My laptop updated without my consent to Windows 11. Everyone is being forced to use it. So if you’re going to sell a product and claim that it works with Windows, you have to have the appropriate drivers and be ready to help brand new customers fix installation issues. So given that I have a printer that works quite well, but can’t use it, I’m giving this a 2
