Much more stylish than a Fit Bit
I’d had my eye on a Bellabeat for a while but was initially reluctant to buy one because I was worried it would be too bulky on my wrist. I eventually decided to give it a go and I’m so glad I did because I love it! In terms of style, I can’t fault it. I opted for the Leaf Urban in Rose Gold and it looks great on my wrist. It’s not as bulky as I first thought and it’s much more stylish than a Fit Bit. I’ve had loads of comments from people at the office about it - many of whom did not know it was a fitness tracker. I also find it super comfortable to wear it as a clip during gym sessions. In terms of fitness tracking, I’ve been using to track my daily steps. You can also add in extra exercise sessions to track your overall fitness. The sleep tracker works well and has been fairly accurate so far from what I can see. I also like the period tracker and the alarms (you can pre-set it to remind you to take your pill and other vitamins etc. and it will vibrate at the allocated time). In terms of stress management, I love the meditation sessions and have been using them often. I would like to see some additional features on the app (such as the ability to add and track your water intake and hook up to other apps/devices such as Buddhify and Apple Health) but on the whole, I love it. It’s certainly inspired me to increase my exercise and look after myself more.

Lovely looking Bellabeat
I got this for as a birthday gift from my husband after lots of careful consideration. I owned a Fitbit Charge HR and had so many problems with it (mostly not tracking unless I did a program reset daily, losing charge on the battery and feeling very uncomfortable at night - the green flashing light behind the device would wake me!). About the Bellabeat: I absolutely LOVE the look of it. I think it's stunning and the rose gold in my opinion is really eye catching. I get lots of comments on it and people are so shocked to learn it is a health tracker! I prefer to wear mine as a bracelet but when I'm working (I use my hands!) I wear it as a necklace which is ideal and not something I could do with my fitbit. At first there were some issues when I changed how I wore it as I didn't realise I had to sync each time. Now that I know what I'm doing it's much better. Sadly, there are some downsides: I find I have to do a sync every morning before starting my day otherwise it does not always track my steps, and annoyingly sometimes even after a sync there have been a handful of times - watching and waiting with bated breath to see how well I had done - .....for it to show '0' steps. Quite annoying as the main point of wearing a tracker is to track your activity!!! As my old Fitbit (when it does work) monitors HR, it tracks when you are active automatically, whereas the Bellabeat does not. You have to enter your activity separately. I do feel though, it's a much more attractive device to wear daily, so I still prefer it!! There are a few suggestions I'd like to make to the Bellabeat team: 1) Adjust the app so when you are entering an activity start and end time, the end time flags as the start time, not the current time. I.e.: if I'm entering my activity at 1900 for an earlier activity at 10am for one hour, it offers 1900 for both the start and finish times. If the start is 10am, make the end time 10am, so you have to move it one hour rather than scrolling all the way back from 1900 again. 2) Please supply a better clasp for the bracelet!!! The open clasp does mean it falls off easily when trying to put it on/during activity. Can you please consider a carabiner type clip which is still very simplistic, but more secure. 3) Please also design a 'sports' type band to wear as a bracelet. As in point 2, I'm always worried it's going to come loose. AND the leather strap is not the best quality as I've had mine for 1 month and the loop you secure it with is already looking a worn. You are promoting a healthy active lifestyle, so it would be nice to have an interchangeable strap for sport that still fits with the style of the Bellabeat. 4) What do you suggest when the step counter does not work? Frustrating.... All in all I would recommend it as I do love mine despite it's few imperfections. If you're looking for something a little more technical in tracking your activity, this is probably not for you - but I feel this is a good every day piece of jewellery that really does keep me motivated to get off the couch! Looking forward to more accessories! :)

Doesnt do what its supposed to do!
Looks beautiful, if your after a bracelet! However it does not record steps properly, overcounts massively! Tried the FAQs but it only says to update ap, no way to do it! Or check positioning! Which ive confirmed a couple if times now. Doesnt record sleep well either, keep having to manually adjust it. So in summary, looks beautiful but doesn't do what it's supposed to do! Considering returning it as it's expensive just for a bracelet!

Looks good, works well when it works.
For performance and design I would give my leaf 5 stars every time. I have tested it against my Huawei fitness band and it counts steps accurately every time. It also looks amazing whether it is worn as a bracelet, necklace or clip. There have been a few reviews that mention inaccuracies with over-counting steps which I have experienced myself, however the only time this happens is if I forget to manually tell the app where I am wearing my leaf. I.e. when I am pushing the pushchair I wear it as a necklace or a clip and then move it back to my wrist when I am home. If I forget to tell the app I have moved it back to my wrist it continues to log steps as though I am wearing it as a clip which massively overestimates them. When the position of the clip matches the position it is set at in the app it is very accurate. I find it is most accurate when worn as a clip on my jeans, but I like it as a bracelet. I have had no problems with it falling off either, once clipped on it stays put until removed, the clasp is very secure. It also tracks sleep really well and the meditations in the app are fantastic, the app is great for reminding me to look after myself. The reason it lost two stars for me is because I am having to return my second faulty device. I purchased one in August that died in October due to battery draining issues. I am just about to return my replacement because for some reason my leaf has disconnected itself from the app and locked me out. I have changed the battery but cannot get connection back due to the leaf being locked. I have dropped the second star because customer services, although very good when they do get back to you, are very slow to respond. I have now been locked out of my leaf for just over a week and haven't had any advice on how to unlock it therefore I will be returning it. Overall I really love my left and I'm very sad to see it go as it works so well when it works. But the amount of time I have spent trying to troubleshoot various issues and returning/replacing it in the 4 months since I purchased it is very frustrating. I would purchase again in future as I love the concept but I think I will hold off until a better model comes out. Maybe I have just been really unlucky?

The Bellabeat is exciting!
A health and well-being tracker, disguised as stylish jewellery - the Bellabeat Leaf is exciting! I was really looking forward to using my new Bellabeat Leaf Urban and it did not disappoint. I was particularly interested in the sleep function and the insight it provides into sleep quality is fascinating! I have been using it for three weeks and I like the ‘7-day average’ data and the tracking it provides over all functions. It is helping me to have a greater awareness of my day-to-day well-being. The website provided all the information I needed to know before purchasing and the Bellabeat Leaf fulfilled its promises. It is also very easy to use and versatile to wear. The app presents accurate data in a simple and clear layout. Overall, I favoured the Bellabeat Leaf over other devices because of its more holistic well-being functionality and unique design as “smart jewellery” – subtle, wearable technology without buttons or screens, enclosed with thoughtful materials. I can truly say I am extremely delighted with my purchase!

Pretty step counter - that's all!
I previously had the jawbone up3 but I stopped using it due to the contacts for recharging stopped working. I wanted a device that had a long life battery. The leaf definitely lives up to this - really happy with this feature. Design - lovely! I clip it onto my bra and can forget about it. Necklace feature is heavy - I'm just not used to such a weight round my neck. Bracelet looks bulky to me and has fallen off at night so I'm not using the sleep function. Biggest drawback - it doesn't monitor heart rate. I didn't realise how useful this was until I lost it after jawbone. It helps monitor type of sleep you're in, R.E.M., deep or light sleep. The sleep type is important. In addition, by monitoring the heart rate, you can work out calories burned more accurately for your weight. Other drawback, it doesn't link to My Fitness Pal - I think this helps get an overview of your intake and output. Essentially, this is a very expensive but pretty step counter with an app that is nothing special - disappointed.

Love it
Absolute adore my Leaf! Such a beautiful design, nice and hardy too and had no problems with the necklace or bracelet. I've found it just as accurate as other trackers and I love that it isn't so focused on fitness but more wellbeing. I've gone from the Fitbit Blaze to this after researching a lot that the optical HRM was about as useful as a chocolate teapot and am really happy with it. Sleep tracking is good - could be a bit better as sometimes it doesn't show me as awake if I get up in the night. I love the app too, really smooth and easy to use and lovely and relaxed.

Love my Leaf 👍🏻
Recently (2 years) I have started to look into and buy all kinds of health trackers from simple watch to more complex heart rate monitors. I have to admit I went through few before I released that most of them were just waste of time and money and are now just left in my drawer forgotten. So when I saw the Leaf I was debating if to spend so much money. At the end my husband treated me on Mother's Day and there was not one day when I would forget about it as I wear every single day. I love the design but unfortunately that is the one thing I have an issue with. On the second day of wearing it I caught it on my backpack and the little bit on the side does not lean against the tracker itself anymore. It is a bit annoying as now it keeps catching almost constantly but I think this will be easily fixed by bending it back. I just hope it will last longer next time as it even catches in my long hair. But saying all this I love it so much that this will not make me return it. The app is easy to use as everything is quite self explanatory. The only thing which I find little bit of is the stress management which, to tell the truth, unless I'm missing something is only calculating and then making assumptions about the stress levels. As a mother of two sometimes I check the app thinking my stress level will be through the roof (I'm about to explode with frustration) and the phone tells me that I am resistant to stress. Which I don't feel like at all 😉 in not even three weeks of wearing it people keep asking me where did I get such a nice bracelet (my preferred position for wearing). It looks awesome and also it is made with quality materials. I have to be careful what I wear as I am alergic to certain metals and cannot even wear stainless steel watches. The Leaf didn't give me any reaction which would be a deal breaker for me. As I never wore it in shower I cannot really say if it is shower/water resistant. I'd rather take it of every time for 10 minutes than to risk breaking it.
