Although this is only a melamine plate, it's very thick and doesn't feel as flimsy as others I've seen. The portion control segments are clearly marked out and are fair. At a glance, they do seem small but actually they are fairly representative of what we should actually be eating.Let me just say, after years of our portion sizes creeping up and up, I thought it was about time I got to grips with how much we are eating in one sitting.After a few days of eating smaller portions we are already feeling full from our meals and we are saving money from the decreased amount of food that our family is consuming, as we are all following the guidelines.For me, this is an excellent way of ensuring that we are eating the correct amount of fibre, carbohydrates and protein. It's much easier than weighing everything out as I cook most things from scratch, and it's much healthier than eating with wild abandon which is what we normally do!If you eat big portions, be ready for a shock when you get this plate, as it's quite small, but the leaflet that comes with it shows a whole chicken breast cut in half in the meat portion, so don't think that you are going to go hungry. You can get a good meal on this plate, it just encourages you to fill it with the right things rather than the unhealthy options. Pasta was always a big problem for us and it's shocking to see what a portion of pasta actually looks like, and lack of vegetables is often an issue, so this encourages us to fill that half of the plate with delicious veg, and veg doesn't have to be boring! One of my favourites is roasted Mediterranean vegetables! These should be standard issue by the NHS to anyone who is trying to include more vegetables, fibre or protein into their diet, or that needs to loose or gain weight.I would definitely recommend this. It's good quality and really makes you think twice about what you are eating, and how much of it you are eating.

Excellent item a good size portion plate,will be able to help you with your portion control as it clearly sets it out for you so no guess work for you to work out,an excellent item that will be of great help when you want to watch the amount you need to eat,I would say a must buy for anyone who wants to eat healthy and the right. amount.

I'm really pleased I invested in a couple of these plates, for my partner and I. I have realised that what I thought was a healthy portion of rice or pasta was actually too large, and I have cut those down, while increasing the amount of salad and veg we eat. The wording is discreet while reminding you what should go in each section and it also comes with a short, supporting leaflet which explains more (though it's pretty easy to remember anyway). Yes, the plate is melamine and you maybe wouldn't use it to serve your guests at a dinner party, but as an everyday aid to portion control, it is ideal, and a good price compared to some others on sale.

Not long had it so only used a few times; gives you wake up call as to how much you really are over eating. It is plastic but sturdy, Price is okay compared to other plates out there but still a bit over priced for what it is. However, if it works then it will be worth every penny,

Arrived on time and well packaged. Cheap plastic picnic plate so don't expect anything posh but it does give you a very clear indication of portion size which I found quite shocking.There's no getting around the fact that my portion sizes are TOO BIG for my lifestyle as I'm overweight - this has given me a shock as to how much I'm overeating. Once I get used to the portion sizes I will go back to a china plate but much smaller than a dinner plate.

I discussed using a portion plate with my dietician before purchasing one and I am using it alongside professional dietary advice as a part of a strict diet. I found during my next routine appointment after I started using the plate that I had lost weight for the first time in ages.Prior to using this plate I was faithfully weighing every item of food I ate, I have disciplined myself to use this plate instead and in my case it seems to be working.I do stress that I am using the plate in conjunction with advice from a professional dietician.

A friend of mine bought this item and as soon as I saw it I knew it was something that I wanted.Although I have to agree with other comments concerning it being melamine this does not retractfrom what the item is about.As I put this plate out whilst getting my food ready to eat I could see why I had been gaining weight.The comparison between what I had been eating i.e. portion size was double what I really should have been eating.So I did not actually use the plate to eat my food of, I decided to keep it to place beside my normal plate whilstI plated my food ready to eat.I have been doing this for two weeks and have lost two pounds already.This item is something that gives a visual picture of how much we should really eat rather than how much we areactually eathing.

Just received my plates .gutted is an understatement they are the cheapest .crappiest .most rubbish .Piece of plastic crap I have ever had .I paid over £22pound for two piece of rubbish .I could have got better from the pound shop and wrote on it my self with a felt tip pen .I will be sending these straight bk were they came from and in future I will be more careful what I buy .
