In love with Arlo
So this is a seriously cool product. It took me about 10 mins to setup 4 cameras using the youtube videos on the Arlo website. You literally plug in the hub, then press a sync button on the hub then the camera, wait a few seconds and its good to go. Repeat for however many cameras you have, then go about setting them up around your house. The video quality is impressive both day and night, with no lag. It has a wide angle lense so you can easily get a view of an entire room without too much hassle. You need to remember this is a security camera and isn't meant to constantly stream video - get a wired setup for that. This is perfect and flicking on and off to automatically record when it detects motion or for the occasional turn on to see whats happening. The settings took a bit of playing around with to get the sensitivity correct and decide if i wanted notifications from all or a couple of the cameras using the rules. I must have misread the description when buying but saw that it was capable of text messaging alerts as well.... i was half right. Arlo can send email notifications when it detects motion which is ok.... however if you can send an email to your phone using an SMS gateway then you can also get text notifications which is really useful. In the UK i couldnt find many networks that disclose their gateways but you can use something like textlocal.com for 6p per text to do this. I have and its great getting a text message everytime it picks up movement!. I have it so its just on the front door camera to cut down on cost but very easy to setup. My only slight concern i have is battery life but time will tell. After 2 days still showing as 100% so no complaints. Great bit of kit

Great buy! So far so good!
So far so good! A little concerned with so many negative reviews (I will update my review after one month) My neighbours have the same set up, they have had no problems with theirs and are happy (they are ex police), so I decided to go for these and the 3 camera set up... I've had this up for a week. Took 5mins to set up, it's extemely easy. Takes longer to insert the batteries than connect the system up. Then another 10 mins to drill the holes for the camera brackets/holders and screw the cameras on (I purchased the screw in brackets) but the magnet ones are very strong and hold the cameras easily without any fear of them falling off. Camera quality is very good and a good wide angle. Night vision is ok, not brilliant! .. my only complaint so far is that there is a few seconds lag sometimes when the camera has picked up and detected a motion on it, on occasion it's taken 10 seconds to after notify me or let me view what's going on, (this doesn't happen every time, just occasionally) .. Batteries seem very good, I'm still on 90,% on all three cameras which are left on 24/7 and pick up approx 30 to 50 detections a day and record for 120 seconds each time... The live feed has worked excellent, one click and I can watch a live feed off each camera. Overall, I'm very happy with my purchase! All in all, it took 30 mins at the most from opening the box, to plugging in the box, inserting batteries, connecting and hanging the cameras up and installing the app... Great buy so far!

Sleek and Stylish
So I've owned this camera after owning 2 previous Security Cameras. The first was the 'Samsung Webcam' which had picture upload to Google Photos. This Camera was Brilliant and did everything I needed to but due to googles terms and conditions it stopped uploading pictures to Google photos which in some aspects meant the camera was redundant. The second was the 'ucam 247' which is advertised as free cloud storage. However this is misleading since you get a 30 free trial with 'Cammy' (which is a very very good app) however the picture on the Ucam via the app was not very clear (even though it was supposed to be 1080p) and the Ucam app was horrible to use. Now the main thing for me when purchasing a home security camera is the auto upload of pictures or videos to some form of cloud storage, whats the point of being able to take pictures or videos onto a SD card if the burgular decides to steal that !!!!! In my opinion it makes it uselss, also while you can manually record or take pictures directly to your phone this is all dependant on you having a decent connection (which in some cases you don't) and the speed at which you take the pictures. So after much searching I settled on this Camera, and overall I've been impressed so far and here are the reasons why: 1) Free cloud storage of upto 1GB or 7 days, this is more than sufficent for me and my needs. It is only on when everybody is out of the house 2) Very stylish and small, you barely even notice it 3) A well designed app that once set-up is very easy to use 4) The app allows scheduling meaning you don't need to keep worrying to turn it on and off again 5) The web app works perfectly with Chrome 6) The email alerts are very clean and concise and provide a good picture of what has been detected 7) The view on the livecam is crisp and clear 8) No additional app is required. The capturing and viewing of recordings is all done within the Arlo app (Ucam you need Cammy as well, and Samsung HD Cam you need either google+ or picassa pics pro to view the pics) There have been some criticism about the fact that it uses batteries however within the app there is a battery warning indicator (not been tested yet) so this might help. Here are the negatives: 1) No main power supply only battery's 2) The app while smooth and user friendly, the setting up of the rules can be a bit tricky initially 3) No ability for con-current user login therefore each individual who wishes to use the app needs there own account, however you add friends and grant them admin access 4) For other uses for some reason it will not give them alerts only email alerts 5) No audio (but this is not important to me I wanted more in picture and alerts) So there are a few gremlins in the product however overall this is a very sleek, stylish and once set-up easy to use product. Anybody who want to monitor there home when they are away from the house to be alerted to anything suspicious should 100% look into this camera
