does it work with all imac

Officially, it only works with Macs (iMac, Macbook Pro, and Macbook Air) that did not come with a built-in super drive. However, you can get it to work by following these instructions: http://www.hardturm.ch/luz/2011/10/how-to-make-the-macbook-air-superdrive-work-with-any-mac/.

Can I use this to transfer my music cd's to my Imac?

I did not have one in my 17" MBP. I took it out and replaced it with an Optibay that includes another OWC 480GB SSD. Yes, I have TWO OWC 480GB SSD's in my 17" MBP. I wanted to watch blu-ray dvd's on my iPad. Looks like that's not possible with the Superdrive. Anybody know if/how that can be done?

ME Technologies sells a USB Super-BluDrive for $79, which includes software that can play Blu-ray movies. There are also two softwares. One is Aurora Software's Blu-ray Player for $30 android the other is Macgo's Mac Blu-ray Player for $60. Mac Blu-ray is due for a 3.0 update. Both are pretty much the same. Check out their reviews online.

Got superdrive from Amazon,plugged USB into my MacBook Pro 13" screen. Discs will not insert completely;they push out like rubber band is pushing them

Note to MacBook Pro users - this drive will only work with MacBook Pros that originally came with no internal SuperDrive - if your MacBook Pro originally came with a SuperDrive and it's died and you're hoping to replace it it with USB version, be forewarned that it will not work...the computer will not recognize the drive. In your case, the reason you can't insert the CD all the way is the drive is not receiving power from the computer...try unplugging the drive from the USB port and you'll see the CD does the same thing when you try to stick it into the drive.
