Q: Can the mixed output from this be sent to a computer via the usb socket, or is it just for power?

The Just Mixer 5 has USB audio out capabilities, so if you connect to a computer via USB, it should show up as a sound source (sound cannot be sent from the computer to the Just Mixer 5 this way). Thanks for the great question. Quick addition to the answers received so far. The RCA output can be used at the same time, but the RCA output is not affected by the mixer's master volume. The output goes up to line level (depending on the channel volumes). So the volume will have to be controlled by the speakers you connect. Given your set up, it sounds like this should work fine.

Q: I broadcast internet radio shows. Would this interface with the Mixxx dj software that I use on a windows pc?

Nice little unit but read the description....

This is a good little mixer. Well constructed and easy to setup and use. BUT.. note in the description... The master volume does not control the headphone output. So you are not monitoring the actual output of the mixer to its final destination when connected as a USB interface.

High amount of audio noise when faders are over 50%

I wanted this to mix the audio output of several computers and sent the output to my amplifier and speakers. Having connected only the first computer, using the output marked "Line Out", to test the unit, on raising the fader to the maximum level there was a huge amount of noise. This unit is not suitable any semi-professional audio work.
