Effective and Great to work with
I have worked with this book throughout my GCSE levels and preparations for the summer exams! 'To Kill a Mockingbird' York Notes GCSE is a great and useful book as it is straightforward and concise. It provides a variety of examiner tips and very interesting information about where and why Harper Lee came up with her effective ideas and their purpose to the book. I studied these York Notes well in preparation for my exams I have thoroughly looked through the sample questions at the back of the book which helped in developing my understanding on some key points on how to answer an exam style question. Overall, this book broadened my understanding of 'To Kill a Mockingbird' by Harper Lee - and successfully got me through my written exam with a result of an A !! Worth every penny. :)

York Notes: 'To Kill a Mockingbird'
This larger version of York Notes took me by surprise and to begin with I wasn't too sure. This was augmented becasue the text is extremely close to the spine of the book on the inside which makes it difficult to read. However, the book itself is very good. It's useful for GCSE because it has information presented in an accessible way and ranging across the assessment objectives that are required for the new GCSE Literature exam. The addition of some colour and more visuals together with the updated layout make this a useful and helpful resource for teachers and students.

Works well for PC Kindle App
I am studying this novel for GCSE and this book was somewhat useful. I was doing a controlled assessment worth 15% of my final grade so decided to buy this guide. I gave me a few useful points for my essay, nothing overly ground-breaking. Overall, useful for GCSE students studying the book.

100% worth it!
This book is really helpful for anybody reading this as part of their GCSE. There is a clear breakdown of every chapter and it explains the main points of what's going on in bullet points. It also has little helpful grade boosters at the side of every page. At the start of the book there is also a description and list of all the characters and a map of Maycomb. I am finding this really useful. Much better than the CGP option!

To Kill a Mockingbird: York notes for GCSE 2010
I bought this for my son as he has dyslexia and has difficulty reading for long periods of time. This enabled him to gain the most out of the book by being able to focus on the relevant sections rather than trying to take it all in at once. The text was also colourful which aided his ability to focus on it. It was greatly appreciated. Highly recomended. It was also at a very reasonable price so it was great for my pocket!

Basic information -
I bought this for my daughter to aid her in revising for her GCSE's - she found it to be OK, but not as detailed as she would have liked it to be. She didn't use it as much as she did the York Notes Advanced for Pride and Prejudice which she found really useful. These notes only seem to cover the basics and don't go into the detail that some students might prefer. Still good but for detail orientated learners, looking around for more advanced notes on the book might be the better choice.

So easy to use !
This guide is so easy to use. It has different sections on the plot (chapter by chapter), the main characters, the setting, background history, main themes, the author. These are all boxed and colour coded to make it quick and easy to find the information you need. Plus it has lots of interesting snippets,thought- provoking quesitions and advice on how to boost your grades and answer exam questions. Just brilliant !

York notes for gcse
Have found these notes informative, concise, and really useful for guidance as to how to approach the gcse. Will know soon enough how effective they really are but they have given my 16 year old son a focus when he was struggling a bit to be inspired by the book proper - at times heavy going for a youngster. Some reviews say these notes are simplistic, but we have found the layout really helpful and an excellent way to cut to the chase!

This is by far the BEST SUPPORTING TEXT for a book I have EVER seen It is very clearly and consistently laid out. It summarizes chapters, sections of the book, pointing out themes, relevant background information and important cited phrases. It takes on character analysis, reminding the reader of their part of the novel and the underlying themes being shown. It has essay questions on the most likely exam topics, shows the difference between what is done for a C, B, and A grade, which would give great confidence to the examinee. It encourages the reader to strive deeper into the meaning of the history in context. Any reader would gain a lot from reading it along side. I can't praise the book high enough. I have looked at so many other critiques, and I couldn't believe how much better this is.
