Slinky Roundwound

I don't usually use Ernie Ball strings but I bought these because they were a good price and on the off chance. I was glad I did, I have to say, as an all round string for playing at home, practicing and general noodling etc, they're absolutely spot on. They have a nice bright tone but not overly clanky, they feel nice under the fingers, not too much string noise, length was good as I have a string-thru bridge, and they sound nice when playing chords over many strings. I will be buying these again when I come to replacement as I think they are not only great value, but a great string in their own right. I use Fast Fret on the strings before and after use so they have lasted a very long time and have retained quite a lot of their bright tone and playability. I would recommend that you do similar with either Fast Fret or the D'Addario Waves equivalent. You can buy oil top ups for the little pads when they go dry too which saves a few quid and keeps your strings going longer.

Is it my new Earnie Ball strings that make my bass now sound better than it ever has before? Or is is that I got a good friend to set up my bass properly and sort the action out etc? I suspect the latter has more to do with it, but she chose these strings for me (she uses these, too, and she knows more about what she is doing than me!), and all I can say is that my bass now rocks! Sound wise, it does sound better, I think, and that is likely the new strings. I can't comment yet on longevity or durability as they're still quite new. But so far, and for this price, very impressed.

The strings do the job and are very robust. Bend very well. The colour coded ends work well for restringing. Weight is brilliant for me

Great strings; the brand speaks for itself. Soft and smooth make it so easy to play on stage for hours.

Estas cuerdas son un clásico por una buena razón. El sonido que producen es brillante y definido, con un gran sustain y una respuesta excelente en todo el mástil. Diría que las EB Super Slinky son apuesta segura para cualquier bajista que busque un sonido versátil y una gran comodidad al tocar.

They're Ernie Ball strings: definitely high quality that work well for many, many players, but what works for one may not work for another. I'd recommend trying some to see if they suit your fingers and ears; if they don't you can move on and try something different, but if they do... YOU'VE FOUND IT!!!
