50 Plastic Window & Glazing Packers Spacers 1mm - 6mm

I was looking for some shims to raise my Bench Mitre Saw by a 2-3 mm's, so that the bench and saw would be the exact height. These were just the just job, I put a 3mm shim (white) under all four corners of the saw, screwed the bolts down and it is now a perfect match. Well worth the few quid for 50 various sizes, they are coloured to make them easy to identify.

In our 1960s house I am fitting plantation shutters. The window recesses are not precisely square or straight and this means the plantation shutters will distort when screwed tight to the wall. These spacers have ridges which helps them stick together making the job of selecting the exact right combination to fill a gap very easy. Mix and match till you have the exact thickness you want, slip in the gap and do up the screws. This gives a firm fixing to the wall without distorting the shutter frame. I have used them for UPVC windows and doors in the past. Again, very useful. Better than fillets of wood as these will never rot.

Basic selection of packers. No issues

I have bought numerous packs of spacers over the years from different suppliers. They have all pretty much been the same and these are no different. The different sizes are all have their own colour for quick and easy identification, they stack just fine and they are easy to drill through or cut in half if required.

These are not an accurate thickness. Measuring the "3mm" spacer, for example, it turns out to be 2.75mm. This is the worst. Others are better but most are at least .1mm too thin. Also they do, as others have reported, curl so need to be flattened. Fine if you can use them where precise thickness does not matter, and if they are under compression to eliminate the curl.

Great pack for that one off window installation. My only comment is that there are no packers specifically designed for the bottom of the window. I know that you can get away with ordinary packers but proper grooved ones would have been nice, otherwise does the job well.
