This is the best book for starters. The dummy app program can help you for progress in app development.

I have just finished the first 2 chapters and have managed to set up my android studio following the instructions of the author. The book is pretty good specially when u are a complete novice in field of app development. The tone of the book is very friendly and the author has written the book keeping in mind that most readers of this book will be first timers. Every small bit of info no matter how basic that could be important is explicitly provided and nothing is left for assumption.....

No in detail explanation just tells you how to get your code onto the play store

You can learn Android programming from this book easily. The basics are explained really well. I love dummy publications.

Do not buy this book. Only a single program cover the entire book. Only wastage of money and time.

I'd say this book is not appropriate for beginners. This book isn't descriptive. It also doesn't cover all topics.
