Fantastic tool
I bought this to aid scraping old wax off my new house’s kitchen worktops. Previous owner had rented it the house and so worktops in a real state. It was a real labour of love to get them back looking great but this tool really helped cut down the workload as I removed many layers of old hard wax oil, dirt and grime. Without it I would have given up. £20 quid seemed a lot for a scraper to me but I gave it a go and I think it is worth its weight in gold. Lovely soft grips made it easier to use snd out a bit of elbow grease in without causing callouses. Love this little tool. It has pride of place hanging up in my shed.

Brilliant tool.
Brilliant piece of kit. Works just like a cabinet scraper on wood but doesn’t appear to have a hooked blade so much more robust and the edge long lasting.

Brilliant
What a great tool - very satisfying to strip the wooden worktop with and remove marks.

Good scraper
Decent scraper. You can buy alternative blades for different applications. Good for stair edges and around architraves.

I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER SCRAPER!!!
I don't normally write reviews, but this product blew me away. I've spent the past weeks laboriously stripping paint and wallpaper from walls in my own home and at a friend's place. It has been tiring and awful, especially with the heat, and has taken me such a long time to make even the slightest progress. I tried standard scrapers and stanley blade ones, but the blades became dull so quickly I was going through an unreasonable number of blades or working with dull blades so my efforts resulted in chipping the plaster more than removing the paint. On top of that, a lot of effort was required for each area and I ended up spraining my hand and developing callouses. Before long I started to look for other items... scoring tools, solutions... I tried them all with very little success. Solutions were messy to apply, had long waiting times or were just too expensive for the large areas I needed to strip. The worst ones barely seemed to make a difference. I searched online and came across this. The reviews seemed too good to be to true, but I had no other options and decided to give it a try. It was more than I would usually spend, but at this stage I knew it would be cheaper overall than constantly buying more blades/stripping solutions, if it lived up to expectations. Came through my door a few hours ago and I couldn't wait to try it. Straight out the box it was bigger than a lot of the other scrapers, but the ergonomic handle and extra grip knob made it easy to handle and direct. I took it to a patch I had been working on and scraped it down; with just a bit of effort a ribbon of paint came away from the wall. It was like cutting through butter! I was ECSTATIC. I had to try more... I ended up finishing stripping a whole alcove because it was so easy. Even when there wasn't an edge to scrape from, dragging the scraper on the paint a few times would reveal the plaster below with startling efficiency. Furthermore, there was minimal damage to the plaster below - with other scrapers there were chips and notches everywhere, whilst here there was only some sparse damage (which may well have been due to my own eagerness/haste). Best of all - my hand did not ache afterwards, I felt like I could go on for hours! The blade is extremely resilient and sharp and the handle has a great comfortable design making it a formidable tool. Cannot recommend enough.

Does in minutes what might take years
Given that chemical paint stripper that actually works is nigh impossible to get hold of (elf and safety innit), I was dubious and wary given the price, but it really does work incredibly well. I needed to be remove 100+ years of paint from concrete front steps. I tried a small area with paint stripper and reckon it would take about another hundred years to remove the paint. Heat gun was no good as the concrete just absorbs the heat. Mechanical methods like standard scrapers, wire brushes, coarse sanding and power tool wire wheels were useless. So I stumped up for this and bingo! First attempt and it was like a hot knife through butter. Job done double quick. I assumed that the carbide blade would be knackered but inspecting it with a magnifier it still looks like new. Next job skirting boards which will be a doddle in comparison.

Great tool
Absolute must for paint or varnish removal. Very happy with the results this tool gives, it's like using a plane, removed all the varnish down to wood with ease.

Never thought I'd write a rave review about a paint scraper. But I love this thing--and I hate scraping. I've done painting professionally but these days work mostly restoring my old farmhouse--I'm working on the exterior at the moment and was looking for a scraper that might make the process less wretched. I learned a long time ago that the key to painting effectively and economically is to use the best products you can find: superior paints and brushes, good canvas drop-cloths, and now a Bahco scraper. Over the years I've tried a wide variety of scrapers and am more impressed with this one than all the rest put together. It's comfortable to use even without the ergonomic knob, but with it, the job becomes... well, almost bearable. This tool works smoothly to remove anything remotely flaking or peeling, requires minimal effort, and doesn't damage underlying wood in the process. Definitely less strenuous than anything else I've tried, and if you've ever spent hours scraping paint you'll appreciate that. Yes, you'll pay more up front, but this product is worth every penny. In fact, when I hired two people to help me on a large job, I bought each of them a Bahco 665 scraper and found it an easily cost-effective investment. Both painters were amazed by the difference it made and how much time (and effort) it saved. In my own case, it probably cuts my time by roughly a third on weathered surfaces and the ridiculous numbers of paint layers I encounter. I also like the fact that the sharp edge stirs up less dust... face it: paint dust is not something you want in your lungs, on your clothes, or anywhere else. You'll also pay more for the replacement blades, but again they last a remarkably long time and are worth the investment. I bought a replacement blade along with my original scraper and haven't had to use it yet. I wasn't familiar with Bahco until I bought this item, but I'm keeping an eye out for their other products now.

The Bahco scraper is amazing. I have been using it to scrape polyurethane finish off of kitchen cabinets and it works great. The blade is super sharp and scrapes the wood to a smooth finish. For tight corners you can turn the blade so the point of the blade is out and this is helpful for getting the last little bit of finish off of the wood. I also purchased the teardrop blade and that has been invaluable for scraping some of the curved areas of the cabinet doors. Again the blade is super sharp and scrapes to a smooth finish. You do have to be careful with both blades to avoid catching them on an imperfection in the wood because this can throw the blade off line and cut into the wood. The scratches typically aren't that deep and can be sanded out easily. I have refinished an entire set of kitchen cabinets and the blade is still going strong. No sign of dulling. This is all I have used this tool for so far but I am impressed with the quality and usefulness for the amount spent. I highly recommend this product.
