Does the job fine
This is a plastic housing for a 3.5 inch drive in a 5.25 drive bay. I bought it because I had previously bought an Akasi 3.5 inch card reader, but stupidly didn't check for a free 3.5in slot in my PC. The construction is fine, the fitting is pretty tight, although you can see a little bit of space around the faceplate when the drive is mounted, but nothing serious. Fitting it was painless, and it comes with screws for a HDD and a card reader/floppy mount as well. No problems at all and cheap enough.

Bit tight but does the job
Bit of a tight squeeze for a 3.5 HDD, but it's done the job, nice and secure, front panel looks smart.

Good adapter
Decided to take out my old DVD drive, that I never use anymore, and add an SSD to my desktop machine. As the DVD drive was SATA, the cables were already there. Five minute job to remove the old drive and replace with this adapter with an SSD mounted on it. Worked fine.

build quality could be an issue for some
it works and I don't plan on returning it but the screw holes don't match up perfectly with the drive. if you're OK with functional and don't care so much about aesthetics it's perfectly adequate.

Doesn't fit with my case face-plate
Feels pleasantly strong enough, 3.5 hard-drive fit snugly into place. I took off the front plate as I had intended to use my case's own dummy disk drive face-plate. Unfortunately it doesn't fit perfectly so the face-plate is now sticking out slightly (where as it wasn't without this caddy). No way to move the caddy further back because of where screw holes line up. I can live with it, from a distance it's not a problem, but it would have been nice if everything fit snug and flush.

Exactly what I needed!
Bit hesitant to buy this product after reading some of the reviews on here, but I am glad I did - it was exactly what I needed. I've recently built a gaming computer with an SSD - my case (Sharkoon T9) does not come with anywhere to install it, so I had to buy this. The plastic is solid, not bendy / wishy-washy / low-quality and was fairly easy to install into the case. The SSD I used was the "Samsung 840 EVO 250GB 2.5 inch Basic SATA Solid State Drive" and it fits like a glove inside the case and the provided screws were nice and easy to screw in. Very pleased with the product, would recommend it.

Every thing went easy
Some reviews suggested the holes didn’t line up, I had absolutely no problems with lining up the screws for everything, some other reviews suggested it was tight to fit into the case and although it might be a little tight I still had no issues installing this adapter to fit my new front USB

Neat product, it allowed me to put my 3.5 HDD into the optical bay. I also find it extremely commendable that it supports both the 3.5 and 2.5 type drives. Now to the downsides, of which there are many. The screw holes on the side will experience some stress as you screw in the screws that you're supposed to there, since it's not grooved. Minor issue. The bay might be a very small amount wider than an actual optical drive. Since the same screws on the optical drive fit, but they do not on this bay. Maybe one millimetre, I don't dare say. All I know is one of my drives did not have enough clearance with the screws I used to fit into the mechanism of my case. The screws that come with it fit in the mechanism as well, but it just doesn't hold it as well. Then to the actual issues that required me to snip off pieces of the device to have things to fit. Firstly, the screw holes on the side intended for a 3.5 disk do not seem to align with the holes on the disk. On the bottom the disk can be aligned with the holes, but you require removing the back cover, because the legs are much too long. I snipped the legs off of the back cover and snipped the plastic frame around the two back holes, because there wasn't enough clearance. Other than those problems, it does what it's supposed to and am glad I bought it. Just, disappointed I had to resort to creative solutions due to problems in the actual design.

Volvería a comprarlo.

needed to put a 3.5" card reader in the new desktop which only has external 5.25" bays. Easy installation and delivered with all needed screws whether you want to use it for a supplemental internal drive or external bay. It doesnt look cheap and is solid. Good price as well. Second Akasa product I order and will do again when needed.
