Jim Dunlop Straplock Dual Design Set - Black

These are good strap locks, though more costly than other types. I had previously been using some 'U' shaped ones, but when I got some more- despite being listed as the same size as those of other makes- they weren't interchangeable (about a half mm difference) which meant the strap from one guitar couldn't be swapped with another etc. Hence switching to these. The images are a bit odd, as when showing the parts they show one and a half items in some pics- one lock for the strap itself and two connectors for the guitar body, one of which with both the screw and soft washer. This is incorrect, and the image of the packet itself is the one to go on. It's two units, each with one strap half and one guitar body part (with screw and washer), that is to say the two connectors required for one strap/guitar. To fit these, the moveable lock part slips through the 'recessed' metal washer- which is the shaped piece that prevents the button from being pressed accidentally. This moveable lock then also pushes through the hole in the strap, and the trick is that this will need pushing through quite far so that you can see the 'slot' onto which the spring loaded clip will need to go. A dunlop branded washer then goes over the lock barrel, on the strap side, and its against this that the spring lock needs to be pressing when applied to the slot. Now this is the tricky bit, as pressing this into place takes a fair bit of pressure, but that branded washer it is pressed against can make it difficult to get some leverage. This is where people are talking about thinking a specialist tool would be handy! The part that fits to the guitar body then just replaces the existing one your guitar will already have. It'll need the screw to be fully in place in order for the locking bolt to go into this clip properly. Don't do this with a power driver as you can damage the guitar body, a standard cross head screw driver will do the job.

Easy to fit. Much more secure than the strap locks that came with the guitar. I have a Vintage V100. It comes with strap locks. They would always come loose. One day, I went into work in fancy dress as Slash. The original strap locks came loose and the guitar fell off it's strap. Thankfully, I was posing for a photograph, so was able to catch it and no harm done. A Vintage V100 is not an expensive guitar, but it's still not a guitar I want to risk breaking. As I had these Jim Dunlop strap locks installed on a different guitar, I ordered the same for this guitar the very same day I'd dropped it. I didn't want it happening when I was playing. Installation is simple. Unscrew screws holding old strap buttons on guitar and put new strap buttons on (you can either use the same screws or the ones that came with this new Jim Dunlop set). Then the remaining parts of the system fits either side of the strap hole and the horseshoe locks them in place so there is no chance of slipping. Solid design. This was the weak spot on the original strap locks on the guitar and the reason it came loose, it simply passed through the strap slot with no resistance. The horseshoe locks it in place, preventing it from happening. No chance of dropping the guitar now, and since it's has a fair weight to it, that's reassuring to know.

I have these fitted to all my guitars. Very strong and give you peace of mind that your pride and joy isn't going to fall on the deck.

Excellent strap locks. Used them for years.

Tried & Tested. Secure and they work. Fender & Schaller are more expensive, with less play in the mechanism. If your axe is of higher value, buy those. A grand or just over, these JD's will do. It's up to you !

Bought these for my boyfriend as a birthday present as his guitar strap kept falling off in the middle of gigs. i wasnt there when he fitted them, but was told that they were easy to fit and without any problems......and the strap hasn't fallen off since :) another plus point that if you want to you can still take the strap off with ease. They do stick out abit, but havent heard the other half complain about it so they cant get in the way at all! Very Pleased :)

These are excellent, well made, robust, and everything you would expect from the Jim Dunlop brand. Are they a tad pricey? Maybe, but would you rather spend £15-£20 now or several hundred repairing a dropped instrument down the line? The only negative I can think of is that it could be easier to swap the attachments between straps. Also if the strap button part is available separately from the strap attachments I have yet to find where. This would make them a more economical option for people wishing to swap a single strap between multiple instruments. (Who doesn’t have their own favourite comfy strap after all ;-) )

Been using these for years on some pretty expensive guitars - I simple won't use anything else.

Die Vorteile des besagten Dunlop Straplock Systems: Kein lästiges Klappern der metallenen Gurtschlösser,da die Verbindungen faktisch exakt aufliegen. Der Dunlop Schließmechanismus läßt sich sehr leicht durch das Gurtloch schieben. Dieses System ist genial! Falls die zwei Gitarrengurtenden mal nicht mit dem originalen Schließmechanismus versehen,bzw. verfügbar sind,ist es auch problemlos möglich die Dunlop Gurtpins an der Gitarre mit einem Gurt,der nur die üblicherweise vorgestanzten Löcher besitzt,zu benutzen. Die robusten Dunlop Gurtpins sind konisch geformt,und erlauben es durchaus auch mit einer normalen Gurtlochung zu funktionieren,falls ein montierter Gurt mit Schließsystem mal eben nicht vorhanden ist. Der breite konische Dunlop Gurtpin wird dann einfach durch das vorhandene Gurtloch übergestülpt. Es ist dann jedoch nicht so optimal gesichert,wie mit dem vormontierten Dunlop Schließmechanismus,hält aber wenigstens wie ein normaler Gurtpin,da der Dunlop Gurtpin breit genug ist. Es ist aber wie schon bereits gesagt,nur eine Option,der vollständig umfassende Schutz,um die Gitarre sicher am Gurt zu befestigen,ist nur bei korrekter Montage sämtlicher beigelegter Original Teile gewährleistet! Mein Tipp: falls die vorgebohrten Löcher im hölzernen Gitarrenkorpus für die Gurtpins bereits ausgeleiert sind,genügt es,einfach ein abgelängtes und leicht gespaltenes Streichholz (gerne aus Kastanienholz und ohne Zündkopf!) oder einen auf die Länge zugeschnittenen Zahnstocher in das jeweilige Loch zu stecken,damit das ausgeleierte Loch wieder gefüllt ist. Dieser kleine,aber effektive Trick ermöglicht sofort wieder einen besseren Halt der Schrauben,und man erspart sich den ünnotigen Kauf einer speziellen teuren Holzpaste! Wichtig: Bitte unbedingt bei der Dunlop Straplok Montage an den beiden Gurtenden darauf achten,daß die 2 beigelegten Sicherungsringe (so genannte Sprengringe) stets korrekt einrasten! Die genaue Montage der Sicherungsringe ist sehr wichtig,weil nur dadurch gewährleistet ist,daß das Schließsystem auch optimal funktioniert! Folglich müssen die Sicherungsringe bei der Montage (siehe Fotos!) bis zum Anschlag in die vorgesehene Nut geschoben werden. Der Sprengring darf sich dabei aber noch leicht um die Achse drehen,dies ist absolut unbedenklich und technisch so vom Hersteller konzipiert. Resümee: Die originalen Dunlop Straplok Sicherheits Gurtpins sind sehr solide und wirklich sauber verarbeitet. Die Handhabung ist bei korrekter Montageanleitung sehr einfach. Mein Fazit: dieses Sicherheitssystem ist de facto das mit großem Abstand beste Produkt,das derzeit auf dem Markt erhältlich ist! Das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis ist zweifellos absolut fair! Probably the best strap lock available on the market! The push/lock system is very well made and easy to use when you need to remove it quickly without worrying about the safety of your guitar. **The only negative point that I can flag is about the installation. The ''C clamp lock'' are very difficult to place and if your strap is not thin as mine was, it will be a lot more difficult. You have to take your time and do it well. In my case, I used a plate screw driver to help pushing the C clamp and it did the job pretty well. Once it installed, I guarantee that these's strap lock are the best you'll have for your instrument because they are solid/well made and can't loose as the C clamp is cliped there and so it don't depend on a nut screwed as some other strap lock model have. Personnaly, I have tried many model of strap lock for my guitar and these are definitely my favorite.

Fanno benissimo il loro dovere. Facili da montare sia sulla tracolla che sulla chitarra. Reggono bene il peso e non si sganciano a meno che non sia tu a farlo.

Son perfectos! El mecanismo el simple pero eficiente. Lo recomiendo bastante, al no tener piezas de tuerca, la sujeción es segura.
