Brilliant Ergonomic Vertical Mouse at a Very Modest Cost
I'm very impressed with this mouse (Havit 2.4G Ergonomic Vertical Mouse), especially considering the price! Choosing the correct mouse is a very important consideration for me - as a professional 3D technical artist who suffers from RSI (tendonosis) due to too mousing over the years, this is a major subject affecting my health and career, and it's something I think most people should pay attention to if they frequently work at a computer. For the last 6 years I've been using "Evoluent" brand vertical mice. I've had two of them stop working now - one every 3 years - with a cost of over £70 to replace (£110 for the wireless version) - ouch! So when my last one gave up the ghost a week ago, I went searching for options and, after extensively weighing up the options available today, decided to take a chance on this wireless Havit vertical mouse. Well, I have to say, it feels quite similar to the Evoluent mice...except even more comfortable because it's just *slightly* less vertical which, to my hand, feels like a comfortable handshake grip. There is no such thing as a "perfect" ergonomic mouse for me any more, so I switch between a vertical mouse, a Kensington Expert Mouse trackball, and a Wacom tablet... because too much of any one type of hand movement is what causes these problems in the first place. But, after a full day of working with this new Havit mouse, I just think it's fantastic: the grip is very comfortable, it's precise, it has a good weight with the batteries installed, the buttons have good tactile feedback, and *importantly* the mouse wheel has a good clicking action which does not require too much force - a small, but hugely beneficial aspect for those of us working in CAD and 3D programs. Additionally, the two thumb buttons (which are hard coded as web browser page forward and page back buttons) *can* be reprogrammed with the use of an excellent free 3rd party software utility called "X-Mouse Button Control". For the £12 I paid, this mouse is an absolute bargain, and I'm going to buy a spare just to have as a backup. If the Product Designers for this mouse happen read my review, here is my one major request for your next product: PLEASE make a version of this mouse with a dedicated middle-mouse button for those of us working with CAD/3D/Design software. I know it's a style that seems to have mostly disappeared from the market (with the exception of those expensive Evoluent mice), but it's a major efficiency feature for some of us, which is also more ergonomic because it distributes the button clicking across more fingers.

Very good ergonomic mouse for a decent price
As the mouse provided at my office was causing strain to my hand I decided to give a vertical ergonomic mouse a chance and see if there was any improvement. I did not regret my decision. This particular mouse arrived very fast (next day), in a very nice applesque package from Havit. I said it before and I will say it again, good packaging, shows that companies care for their products and that money have been spent for marketing along with the company actually believing in their product. The mouse was a bit smaller than I expected and was not sure that it will be really ergonomic because of that, but I was wrong. The size is perfect for a normal sized male hand. There are the usual function buttons, placed in a very good position, which means that your fingers are resting exactly where they should be resting. The mouse is wireless, and that was one of the reasons I gave it a try as I wanted to reduce clutter on my desk. A tiny usb receiver is included and amazingly it is plug and play. No need to install any software or to tinker with settings. Just put batteries in , usb receiver in laptop , turn mouse on and you are ready to go. I have been using it for some days now, with some cheap pound shop batteries and it is going strong. It is being used for at least 7 hours a day straight so I assume that with a good pair of batteries you will get months of use out of it. Most importantly, I see a difference on my hand strain. There isn't any! Really happy with my purchase and I highly recommend it.

Good but not perfect mouse
When the box arrived it looked rather beaten up. Fortunately, when I opened the box the mouse looked ok. Ergonomically the mouse is comfortable and the mouse buttons feel very natural. The mouses wheel feels a little cheap but works ok. Maybe my biggest issue is the mouse uses 2 AAA batteries instead of a single AA battery, which is normal for a mouse. Overall a good mouse which works and feels comfortable.

''WHY IS THIS NOT STANDARD ISSUE''. Fantastic bit of kit
My partner works from home a couple of days per week, being at home she tends be more productive and spends even more time at the keyboard. She has often complained about her forearm/wrist aching and despite getting her different mice? over time nothing has changed.. Being a recent fan of Havit and checking out their gadgets I saw this and just had to get it for her to try. As per usual with this company, it arrived next day. The mouse is at first glance, unusual and you may be forgiven for thinking ''huh? bit gimmicky ''... Its light but not 'too light', flipping it over you find the usb dongle neatly stowed in its' own tray within the battery compartment. Connecting to the system was faultless. The design causes you to hold the mouse rather than ' rest your hand' over the mouse, it's this resting over that causes the forearm to twist inwards to your centre line and at the same time the hand is tilting up....this leads to the tendons constant rubbing In an un-natural manner that leads to RSI. This design has been moulded from a naturally resting position, the outer heel of your hand is lowest on the desktop with thumb and forefinger highest - this places your wrist and forearm in alignment so the tendons will be running more or less straight on the left/right and horizontal axis.... NO MORE RSI ! Initially she found it 'different but not at all awkward to get used to' (after years of using a traditional mouse no surprise). With twenty minutes she said it felt like a second nature to her and was in full flight. So, after two full days of use she says her arm or wrist have not ached or tingled once ! She really gets on with the layout, it's very intuitive. '' why is this not standard '' she asks? Highly recommend if you spend any amount of time at your pc/laptop.
