Crystals for Beginners: The Guide to Get Started with the Healing Power of Crystals Review: Great book to have - Perfect crystal book for beginners.Lots of good information period suits would I need Review: Such a great book - go where you are drawn - I have taken this book out of the library so much, that I knew I had to own it. This book is just informative and straightforward. The author comes across as a warm, friendly, super knowledgeable friend sharing what she knows with you. There is no "buy this very expensive one you must!" yada yada yada. Instead, there is look around and find out. Figure out what works for you and go from there. Plus, you'll learn a lot. Do you know what entrainment is? I did not, until I read it here. (Mood contagion, basically). I was not aware that crystals could be grouped by lattice pattern. Orthorhombic is a diamond-shaped pattern, for instance. The concept of piezoelectricity is fascinating. Tetrahedron aka pyramid shape - there's one for trivia night. This book is packed with information and insight. The 'One Stone - Many Names' section will save you money, as will the sections on which crystals will dissolve in water or bleach in the sun. (I haaate going to stores and seeing amethyst and rose quartz in direct sunlight, while their price tag endures unchanged). Being a book nerd with an extensive library, I would say buy a kindle and paper copy of this book with the money that you save, but that's just me. Anyway, to sum it up, this is an ideal beginner's book. It reads very much like my favorite cookbooks where it is both a pleasure to read and a trusted resource.

Perfect gift for a beginner!
Solid beginner crystal book. Given as a gift multiple times and the recipient is always happy. Beautiful photos and great explanations. Covers a lot of material including starting a collection, crystals for healing, and increasing their power. Individual crystal info pages cover brief descriptions and use, origin, lattice, shapes, energy, color, chakra, placement, and various usage tips. There are better books for intermediate and advanced interests, but this is a good and solid starting point.

Love it
This is exactly what I needed to know. The basics, definitions and distinctions about healing stones and those alike. It’s a new world of healing energy that I didn’t know existed. Beautiful pictures and tons of information.
